They are taking it literally, yeah.

Surely shouldn't they release it asap though. If they actually released it in June, it'd properly get popular a month or two later, and by then it'd be like FAIL.

If they release it now, it'll probably be at its peak in popularity in June, which would be better, surely?

Yeah, you could be right. Even if it depends how they are going to promote it. If there will be a big promotion to push the first weeks hardly, they'll release it on June. Personally I think the best date is like May 20th.
