Similarities between Eminem songs?

Postby xxTrigger1989xx » Mar 18th, '11, 03:28

Lets talk about some.

I think Going Through Changes and Deja Vu sound similar. The same type of tone, similar lyrics and flow (at some parts), similar sounding beats...yeah lol.

Came back to annihilate, the game's in dire straights, as I await
Word on Satan, as I drop, fall to my knees before this Quija board and I pray
Now I lay me down to sleep
I do this shit in my sleep, I’m sleepin' now, imagine if I awake

Crack A Bottle, Cold Wind Blows, Deja Vu all have the same melody. I think there might have been another one, not sure.

It's Ok sounding like a positive, prototype Rock Bottom.

There's a lot more that I can't think of at the moment.

I'm Shady & Cum On Everybody are pretty similar in terms of content.
Rock Bottom, The Way I Am, Say Goodbye To Hollywood, Like Toy Soldiers, Beautiful, Deja Vu & Going Through Changes more or less sum up how he feels in that era or stage of his life during each album (Beautiful being for The King Mathers era while Deja Vu is for Relapse)

Nah jk, I just wanted to always do that since people do it to me :D

Anyway, "Ain't Nuthin' But Music" is similar to "Business," atleast to me. For a while the structure/flow of "Untitled" reminded
me of "Marshall Mathers"..not anymore though. And "Underground" very bleakly reminds me of "Criminal"
"This dude doing this interview wants me to spin a few,
Lyrics while I tie my tennis shoes in the nude
A romantic interlude in a livin’ room,
In an inner tube with a dude with a bit of lube
Fuck that I’m sniffin’ glue, sippin' gin & juice,
And a little bit of paint thinner with my dinner too,
You better pay me for my bars like your rent is due,
Now hurry up and finish dude before I finish you."

"Puke" also sounds similar to both, I think. The beats are all different but yet so close to each other that you could probably switch the beats and not notice much difference in overall sound.

I have always thought "Drug Ballad" and "Cum On Everybody" sounded the same. I can't even tell which is which sometimes, because I always skip over them so all I ever hear is the very beginning.

Few more random similarities:

I just realized Hello & W.T.P. have the same exact drum pattern.

Many of the songs on Recovery begin with Eminem talking. Many of them beginning with him saying "Yeah..." or "Ayo..." And most of the songs end abruptly, as opposed to fading out.
