Fight Camp 360/Showtime are geniuses

Postby FreeSpeech » May 7th, '11, 03:16

Debuting an Em/Dre song on a TV show is seriously a genius marketing move. I gaurantee they will get thousands and thousands of new viewers from this move. Seriously, I haven't seen anything like this. So smart. I bet they paid Em and Dre a nice lil check, but they'll probably make it back in increased ad revenue. Just...damn...as a business student, I'm impressed.

Yup, and I guarantee they won't show it 'til near the end, too.

Came back to annihilate, the game's in dire straights, as I await
Word on Satan, as I drop, fall to my knees before this Quija board and I pray
Now I lay me down to sleep
I do this shit in my sleep, I’m sleepin' now, imagine if I awake

You must go to a pretty bad university to view this as 'genius' marketing. Not to say that it isn't good marketing.

Name one other TV show that's exclusively debuted a track by the most popular artist on the planet. Eminem, as of right now, has 35,300,000+ followers on Facebook. He makes FB updates rarely, and he put the show as a status. You find me a better way to blast your TV show to over 35 million people, in a way that makes them wanna watch (as opposed to just spam). Fucking idiot...

Top 50 in the nation actually. Maybe genius was too strong a word, but this is a phenomenal marketing idea, as stated above. Everything seems obvious in retrospect, but I gaurantee this deal was hard to pull off.

This is extremely common in marketing. While it is a great idea, it is pretty common.
And everything's spinning
You're beginin' to think women
are swimming in pink linen again in the sink
Then in a couple of minutes that bottle of Guinness is finished

Hey you're right sorry what I wrote might have been kind of rude I'm happy you didn't take it like most TR users and cried about it :p

on the other hand I'm pretty disappointed right now about the song!

Yes, I know you're being sarcastic. All of you bullshitting like this was something easy to pull off, please show me one other similar ploy? Show me another show that debuted a song from the most popular rapper on the planet, who also has the most FB followers of anyone. Anyone who thinks this was a bad/noncreative idea is a moron. Yes it seems like a simple idea, but guess what? They were the first to do it, at least at this level. I know almost every person on here that watched the show watched SOLELY for the Em bit.
