Second death in shot rapper case

Keith Bender was a former sergeant with the US Army
A man allegedly shot by rapper Proof, shortly before Proof was himself shot and killed, has died in hospital.

Army veteran Keith Bender, 35, had been in a critical condition since being shot in the head at the CC, a nightclub in Detroit, Michigan, one week ago.

Police said witnesses reported that Proof shot Mr Bender during a dispute and was then shot himself by Mr Bender's cousin, Mario Etheridge, 28.

Mr Etheridge has been charged with discharging a firearm in a building.

He has also been charged with carrying a concealed weapon. Mr Etheridge has pleaded not guilty to both counts.

'Hip-hop ambassador'

Mr Bender died from a gunshot wound early Tuesday morning, according to a spokeswoman at Detroit's St John Hospital and Medical Center.

Proof - real name Deshaun Holton - was a close friend of US star Eminem and a member of his rap collective D12.

Eminem has paid tribute to his friend, who acted as best man at his recent remarriage to first wife Kimberly Mathers.

"He will be missed as a friend, father and both the heart and ambassador of Detroit hip-hop," said the singer in a message on the D12 website.

"Proof was funny, he was smart, he was charming. He inspired everyone around him."

The funeral is due to take place on Wednesday.

I cant judge wat happened but i kinda doubt that proof would shoot someone first. What for. The fact is Proof went to a dangerouse spot being famous and the bitch was just jelouse.

Proof shot as self defence. coz the other guy drew a gun and his faggot cousin showed up at the time.

Proof had no motive to shoot Bender first, bender was in an argument with him coz he knew how famouse proof was and was talking shit.

I could give 3 fucks if its fair, the idiot bender shouldnt have owned a gun in first place.

does anyone know how many shots you get for self defense? cause i read somewhere that the cousin shot proof in self defense but i thought you can only shoot once for it to be considered self defense, and he wasn't defendeing himself he was defending his cousin!

the fact is... the media does not KNOW wat happened and they are not taking sides so they dont end up in the wrong.

And as some sources state there were only 2 guns not 3. A lot of little details that change the whole situation. Its the fact that mario is a Vet that they let him slide so easy.

Sarah its more like simple logic, there are details that can be found out, but the police, they dont give no fuck and proofs killer is is a war vet, they him off easy.

The judge and the jury would consider proof able to just shoot someone over a fight because he rapped about violence, drugs and a trouble maker and worse of all black, their mentality will simply make them assume that mario had the right to.

And since wen is shooting someone in the head a couple of time, than supposingly turning them around and shooting the chest - "self defence"

its fishy, not only because thats 2 people against one, but also because proof is famous and people are jelous.
