8 Mile. His greatest ever

Postby venomous_volatile » May 13th, '11, 01:00

Having played the fuck outta recovery and every possible Em album, the leaks, collabs, freestyles.

I sat back and decided "8 Mile" from the OST is Em at his best. Fuck Lose Yourself, Stan, everything. 8 mile is his greatest. Perfect verses, bridge, the chorus, the piano loop. Perfect mix of smooth flow, shouting, singing.

Anyway, yeah. Best ever

Seen Em live twice. Thanks Slim.

It is a great song, with a great beat - but it's a bit exagerated calling it his best song ever, even if everybody has his own taste. Lose Yourself has a better concept, is produced perfectly.

F*ck Lose Yourself? :o

I'd put 8 Mile and Lose Yourself at the same level. While I think 8 Mile is underrated, I don't think LY is overrated. It just happens to be more popular because it was realeased with a music video and everything. Both are GREAT examples of his abilities.

It's appreciated for a reason. The rhyme scheme is fantastic. 8 Mile also has a very good rhyme scheme but it isn't at Lose Yourself's level.

It's my favorite Eminem song as well, never been a big fan of Lose Yourself, even though the latter is technically superior in terms of multies. I always get chills listening to 8 Mile and feel it's his best structured song and everything about it is perfect. It all comes down to preferences really, no matter how many times you break down the verses.
