Well, he was crazy and "old eminem" during Relapse but it didn't work. It wasn't the come back he expected i think, so Recovery got him attention again.

It seems to me that his music, interviews and live performances were a lot more forced during the relapse era. he tried to go back to his old ways of starting up shit and being controversial but it failed miserably. Also, he was relearning to rap so his live performances and interviews were awkward as fuck in 2009.

I agree with this, but admittedly I think he was more comfortable with his music during the Relapse 'era'. Even though I prefer Recovery, I do kinda wish he'd just go back to putting out whatever the fuck he wanted rather than listening to fans.

You gotta be kidding. Hearing the fans was his best move ever. He should have done it after Encore, at least he did it after Relapse. I think, his fun on Relapse was a bit faked. He wanted to proof something, to show the whole world he wasn't dead. So after he had his comeback and shocked (kinda) the world, he could relax and put out some more serious shit. Recovery.

I think he was kinds nervous during Relapse era,being back in the public eye isn't easy.But he def seemed to have more fun.Now he is more confident,but most of his interviews seem alike and he is so serious most of the time.I think he should listen to what fans think and take their opinions into consideration but to a certain point.I still don't feel good when i hear him dissing Relapse,cause some fans didn't like the accent.Cause of them he ditched both the accent and the beats lol.He should do whatever makes him feel good..that way he is having fun and that will be heard in his music too imo

Em's an attention whore, attention makes him feel good. He wanted to diss Kanye and Weezy for the attention they were getting and him not. Relapse was irrelevant just 3-4 weeks after release. If you ask him now, he'll say he's happy. He doesnt feel like he failed. Recovery was not only loved by the fans, also the critics gave him props. And yes, there's some controversy on Recovery too, a right portion. I'm not saying he has to become completely political correct.
