Soundtrack To The Struggle (New Tracklist: Out October 16th)

Postby MikeNUFC » May 22nd, '11, 12:36

EDIT: This is the new tracklist, from his Facebook:

1. Soundtrack To The Struggle (produced by Nutty P)
2. Too Much ft Shadia Mansour (produced by Nutty P)
3. Voices Of The Voiceless ft Immortal Technique (produced by Sivey)
4. Hand On Your Gun (produced by ShowNProve)
5. Skit 1
6. Terrorist? (produced by Red Skull)
7. Something Wonderful (produced by Red Skull)
8. Dreamers ft Mai Khalil
9. Skit 2
10. Obama Nation (produced by Red Skull)
11. Skit 3
12. Cradle Of Civilisation ft Mai Khalil (produced by Quincey Tones)
13. Skit 4
14. Blood, Sweat and Tears ft Klashnekoff (produced Nutty P)
15. Everything I Am (produced by ShowNProve)
16. Skit 5
17. Long Live Palestine (produced by Nutty P)
18. We Will Rise ft Sanasino (produced by Big G)
19. My Soul (produced by Vendetta)
20. Skit 6
21. The Butterfly Effect (produced by BeatNick & K-Salaam)
22. Obama Nation Part 2 ft M1 & Black The Ripper (produced by Nutty P)
23. Dear England ft Mai Khalil (produced by BeatNick & K-Salaam)
24. Haunted ft Mai Khalil (produced by JetSun)
25. Terrorist? Part 2 ft Crazy Haze & Mai Khalil (produced by Last Resort)
26. Million Man March ft Mai Khalil (produced by Big G)

Pissed off he's left Osama Nation and 2 Letters off - was looking forward to those. Dear England sounds interesting - I assume it's a recent recording, possibly in relation to the riots, and he felt the need to put it on there.

Any rough idea on when this is going to be released?

It seems to have "been in the works" for ages now, I've been waiting too long.

He said a week ago that it will be out sooner than people think. Sometime in july would be my guess.

I'm hyped for this as well. I've been bumping the fuck out of "Long live palestine" for a long while now (it's available as some kind of a single on itunes) and I'm not even that much into foreign politics but the passion and pain reflected in that song speak to me.

As for Something Wonderful. Good song and I reckon it is going to be a fresh breath of air on the album. Not sure how well his voice fits the soulful beat though.

I just listened to it again on YouTube. It's a really easy to listen to song. There's just something about the content that pisses me off, I can't put my finger on it. I find "think about that shit when you diss her, that's somebodys daughter, somebodys mother and somebodys sister" really annoying - a man is someone's son, someone's father and someone's brother, should people not diss men either?

And on the foreign politics comment - Lowkey's music has got me interested in foreign politics massively and influences a lot of my writing now. It's amazing that his music can get you thinking about the world so much.

That song is on somebody's iTunes, somebody's album and somebody's Youtube. Think about this stuff when you diss it.

As for the album, you know my thoughts on Dear Listener (albeit it has grown on me a bit), but every music video he has released since then has had amazing replay value in comparison so I've been really looking forward to this album to help me get more into Lowkey. He's my 2nd favorite UK MC right now and would probably be one of my favorites in general if he had more material, he's a great artist & lyricist.

I'm looking forward to whichever track is a continuation of bars for my brother, that tune is amazingly touching.

Haunted (f. Mai Khalil) is the continuation of Bars For My Brother. I've heard that track is mad deep, this album is gonna be great, hopefully.

Cheeers, I'm actually gonna go straight for that track as soon as I get the album, haha. And yeah, absolutely nothing I've heard from the album so far has disappointed, so high expectations for the rest.

Waiting is killing me though, lol.
