I'm pretty sure this has been brought up before, but I wanna bring it up again, mainly to compare the production. Now, obviously the production on Recovery isn't as good as TES, and sounds nothing like it...we know that already. No one should have to think twice about that. But, I think what Eminem was trying to do, with the production and his particular selection of songs, was to try to make a more mainstream version of TES. If you notice on Recovery, guitars are everywhere (like on TES, only on this album its mainly acoustic). The album is full of rock elements that might not be caught on at first. Eminem has ALWAYS (and I do mean always, it's not even an exaggeration) used rock elements, guitars, all that good shit in his music. He did wanna experiment with producers, but Recovery is a lot more coherent in its production than people give it credit for. If I listen to the album front to back, everything seems to be in the right place.
I'm not saying the actual production is similar, because it's most definitely not. But I think the aim, his choice of beats, etc., was to make it like TES (Apparently, I need to bold this so people know). And no, let's not turn this into a Recovery vs. TES argument or a "Recovery sucks" thread, this is serious. I wanna see if anyone else notices this. It's a very long shot for me to suggest all of that, but whatever, we need something to talk about...
