To me, the Wii controls were a disaster. I can see the childish appeal, but motion for the sake of motion is indeed a gimmick, and becomes/became tired quickly. I owned a Wii for a very short amount of time (long enough to complete the new Super Mario). I suppose I can't judge every Wii game, since I've owned a total of 3, but I can't see the control system being better in another game than it was in a top-tier, highly acclaimed title such as Mario Galaxy.

This new Wii shows promise, but Omega is being an ignorant fanboy (big surprise), because even with 1080 the hardware doesn't have the growth potential the PS3 had (and still has), and even if it manages to produce high-end graphics (which according to previews: it will), it'll still lack in general gameplay as Nintendo likes to innovate for the sake of innovation, rather than create a dynamic system that is both innovative and enjoyable.

Of course, any realistic claims will be dismissed by moronic fanboys, so this is my last post in this thread.

gotta agree about the wii controls. 90% of the games ended up being merely shaking the controller rather than actually doing something strategically or even logically for that matter. i found myself just using the classic controller for all the games i played, which kind of defeats the purpose.

as for the graphics, i too am skeptical. the claims say 1080p but it takes more than screen resolution to make a game pretty. we'll just have to wait and see i guess.

I think that this is going to be a great addition to the way people play for sure. The applications for this type of tech can't even be fully anticipated yet. As for the type of games, it's looking like they are being more welcoming to developers that are targeting M rated players. I've heard of a few FPS games and the new Ninja Gaiden as well.

Besides that, if u wanna look at gimmicks, clearly u can check out the ps vita, bet it fails
oh yeah... and thanks for nothing too

I have the Wii now and it's fucking boring. I stopped at Gamestop and played with that Street Fighter on the 3DS for a while, got nostalgic and bought Street Fighter Alpha 2 from the Wii Shop. It waits to tell me after I've paid for it, that I can't use my dumbfuck controller with it. :facepalm

I'm not interested in that stupid new shit. And the 3DS made me dizzy after a minute. Wii should just keep adding downloads to that Just Dance 2 store. And until the 3DS can compete with all of the shitty, but free roms I get on my DSi, fuck it.

It definitely looks interesting. I found the Wii controls to be neat at first but it became a gimmick after a few times using it. I'm more excited for the new Xbox. :y:
