6-year-old Oklahoma boy dies in go-kart accident

GOTEBO, Okla. (AP) - A 6-year-old boy from Gotebo has died after his go-kart overturned.

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol says the accident that killed Tucker Johnson occurred about 5 p.m. Friday in a rural Kiowa County field.

Troopers say Tucker was driving through the field with an adult passenger and tried to negotiate a left turn, but turned too sharply, causing the go-kart to overturn once. Tucker was partially ejected.

The boy was taken by ambulance to a nearby hospital, where he was pronounced dead. The passenger, 26-year-old James Miller of Brownwood, Texas, was treated at a hospital and released.

Troopers say seat belts were in use at the time of the accident.
