Horrible logic.

Nas hasn't topped God's Son, Stillmatic and even Illmatic for some people. The most recent of the three being from '02. So at the very least, Nas has been in a decline for 9 years. Should he retire too?

Royce has yet to top Death Is Certain, an '04 album. Should he retire too?

I could easily keep going...

Nas went from a 10/10 to an 8/10

Eminem went from a 10/10 to a 2/10 to a 6/10

Nastradamus.

That being said, I think I might like Untitled & Hip Hop Is Dead more than Stillmatic tbh. Especially now that we know he's Australian.

So let's say a year & a half as a 3-4/10. His worst was never as bad as Eminems worst & it was alot shorter compared to Eminems 4 years of wackness.

Weren't you the one that said a couple months ago that Em is one of those MC's where almost every song by them is one you would consider between great and classic?

And yeah, I don't think anyone would deny that Nas' discography is more consistent than Em's, and that Em is currently a 6-7/10 MC, but with occasional shines of brilliance like Deja Vu, Going Through Changes, Forever, Drop The World, etc. Would you really say that you want him to quit now? If he had just dropped Relapse I would agree, but he's already 3-3 now, half of his legacy is already "tarnished" (Keep in mind I am not supporting this statement, I'm looking at it from the perspective of somebody with this mindstate). He still has the potential and elements to drop a decent album, they're just not being displayed together for whatever reason, so why stop?

For the record I like Relapse/Refill better than Recovery/HTS. & I never said I wanted him to quit, there is no way he can get worse than he was from 04-08. I still listen to all of his new shit anyways.

Satire in dire need of a debate right now. :coffee:

It turns out you actually said that about Rhyme Asylum.

Still, you're a faggot though.

This isn't a debate and that wasn't addressed to you, I was addressing the discussion and using you as a gateway for that I guess. If it was a debate I would have said shit that actually pertained to your post, fucker.

That would've held true if they didn't make that wack ass song Returmination.

On another note and so I don't have to make another topic, I was talking to a friend of mine about wordplay and he said Rhyme Asylum's punchlines are retarded as fuck because "It's just combining well known sayings. As lines by themselves, they don't work. They're stupid".

How do I convince him otherwise.

If Eminem plans on dropping an album with the kind of content he has put out post-Recovery then he should do himself a favour and hang it up.

But I'm hoping he will go and fuck off out of the spotlight for a good year or so, take time to rest, come up with new ideas and inspiration, listen to The Eminem Show because it's the closest thing he'll be able to reproduce again (a 2012 Eminem album in the style of MMLP or SSLP would just not work) and begin to make some quality, emotive music again. No shouting just for the sake of shouting, no-to-few shitty punchlines, no-to-few over-the-top "look how fast i can rap" flows,....just quality music. Quality music like SFTM, Say Goodbye Hollywood, Till I Collapse, Cleaning Out My Closet, Deja Vu, Going Through Changes, 25 To Life, and any other song he's done which are authentic, real and emotive.

I'm just doubtful right now whether he'll do that. I've not heard anything from him in over a year which I've liked so what would bring about a change in direction?? Like I said, only a substantial break from the spotlight maybe? *shrugs*

He acts like they're just throwing together 2 sayings that have absolutely no connection to each other & don't make sense. Like if they said "An apple a day keeps the doctor away, that's why I have eyes in the back of my head" or "you can bring a horse to the well but you can't make him drink the water under the bridge"

They don't do that, they combine common sayings together in ways that make perfect sense & are impressive as fuck like "Sleeps the cousin of death & there's bodybags under my eyes" or "I get master degree burns after a heat stroke of genius"

Also it would be nice to know what music your friend listens to, wouldn't put it past him being a Wayne fan tbh.

No joke, his favorite rappers are Tech N9ne, Hopsin, Prime-Eminem, Mac Miller & Yelawolf.

"I get master degree burns after a heat stroke of genius"

This is the line I quoted to him that he thought was retarded as fuck. He thought it sucked because it didn't work on a literal level.

Mac Miller & Yelawolf.

He's looking at the punchlines entirely wrong, when you put the sayings together they coincide with each other & make perfect sense in the context of the line. I take it he's not big on Sadistik either?

BTW "a smooth talker with jagged teeth" yes or no?
