Rick Ross' Teflon Don is an amazing album

I expect most of you to just write me off and hate on Ross, but this is one of the best mainstream albums in its year. Great album. I don't like Ross for the most part, just as a person/musician. He does get too much hate for the whole "fake persona" thing though. I honestly never believed him, it's entertainment. He's said that too. Kinda like Em talking about a lot of shit he did/had happen to him. It's entertainment.

But, back to the album. It's great.

1. I’m Not A Star: Dope. Way better than Wayne's John version. It's a banger.
2. Free Mason f. Jay-Z: Awesome song, refuting all the conspiracy rumors. Jay's verse is great, both of them are very thoughtful.
3. Tears Of Joy f. Cee-Lo: My favorite song on the album. Cee-Lo MURDERS the hook. Beautiful song, Ross talks some good stuff. I ws digging the Huey Newton intro, on some Kanye/Gil Scott ish. No I.D. track.
4. Maybach Music III f. T.I., Jadakiss & Erykah Badu: Beautiful song, and Erykah is phenomenal.
5. Live Fast, Die Young f. Kanye West: Really like it, I was worried Kanye would give one of his BS Katy Perry type verses, but they both kill it. It's a great feel good track.
6. Super High f. Ne-Yo: Good song, nothing much to say...
7. No. 1 f. Trey Songz & Diddy: Dope song, Trey's hook was fire.
8. MC Hammer f. Gucci Mane: Only song I'd have left off. It's not bad, but it's practically identical to BMF. Gucci doesn't belong on this caliber of an album.
9. B.M.F. (Blowin’ Money Fast) f. Styles P: Huge banger, love it. It's like the MC Hammer beat was improved and they replaced Gucci with Styles P, who's great.
10. Aston Martin Music f. Drake & Chrisette Michele: Dizzope, nothing much else.
11. All The Money In The World f. Raphael Saadiq: Very nice, down to earth song. Helps humanize Ross.

Seriously, bump this album. The feautures are on point: Jay-Z, Kanye, Erykah Badu, Cee-Lo, TI, it goes on and on. The production was perfect, nothing cheap like a lot of the beats Ross hops on. Also, Ross is a significantly better rapper than ever before. His flow is always on beat, and he had some nice rhymes.

Yeah, I didn't check it out untill recently because I had no reason to. I've always thought of Ross as a Khaled mic CD level rapper, the cover/title seemed corny, there was just nothing to make me listen. But, it's very dope.

I'm Not A Star has no features. Tears Of Joy only has Cee-Lo on the hook, same with others. BMF is all Ross, if Styles wasn't there it wouldn't make a difference.

I mean, do you really want Ross doing all his own hooks? I sure as hell don't. It'd get crazy repetitive. I don't like this album just cuz of the features, they're just dope. It still feels like HIS album, it's no different than Jay or Kanye having features on tons of their songs. It still feels like their songs.
