If you like Lowkey and Rhyme Asylum...

For discussion of mainstream Hip Hop or Urban music.

If you like Lowkey and Rhyme Asylum...

Postby One Mic » Jul 24th, '11, 20:39

...why?

This kind of UK Rap is superior IMO

Better flow, better voice, better sound, and better overal "feel"

If you don't like UK Rap at all, or can't get past the accent, then fair enough. This thread aint for you

I'm talking about the people who only like Lowkey and Rhyme Asylum from the UK, like they are something special smh.

I will never understand

If you're gonna listen to stuff from the UK, at least listen to the good shit

It's amazing how much power a small group of people on a community like this has in influencing others in what is supposed to be good or not. smh

I don't even know what to say, you guys have been brainwashed too much.

Lowkey says the same shit in every track with the same monotone flow
Rhyme Asylum are just gay and geeky. Cringeworthy

^ No one takes them seriously around here.

You need to do your research about the hardest rappers in this country, fuck this gay shit

If this is true, then fair enough for having your own opinion, I respect for not following TR bandwaggon.

But I still think RA are gay as fuck and make horrible geeky music for white hippies who think they are something they are not

Lowkey is easily one of the best rappers in the world right now. When was the last time we actually had somebody to be controversial without rapping about "gunz'n'bitchez"? And yes, I know controversy doesn't make you a great artist nor a rapper but seriously, this guy is rhetorically in the league of the best right now and if we're talking just rhymes, he isn't far behind the likes of Rakim and even Eminem. Actually I prefer his rhyming to the latter.

My only issue with him is that I am worried about his album being 20 tracks long cus I can't think of any album that turned out to be great with that ammount of cuts on it. The production of it seems a little incoherent so far.

And of course he is on the "same shit" as struggle (and politics, I guess) is the whole theme of his forthcoming album. There are plenty of other concepts and ideas on his first album which is quite a good album by the way. It is actually very surprising how much he has improved as a rapper and artist since that release.

I don't know anything about Rhyme Asylum. I have never cared for them and probably never will.

There's a difference between jumpin on a bandwagon for the hell of it and actually enjoying a new artist that another member showed you. Fuck. The moment someone introduces a new artist/group, some people are like 'damn I like this' then you have a couple people going HAHA FUCKING BANDWAGONERS GET UR OWN OPINION FAG.

(Present) One Mic's character is an elephantine troll cretin with more flesh and bacon in him than a North Carolina slaughterhouse. This thread is not worth replying to when he's already said that Lowkey is one of his favorite UK MC's and class exposed him as being xRas' alt. account last week. I lol'd at that video though.

Possessed & Lowkey >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> *

That being said, I don't really think there's much band-wagoning on this forum in terms of artist trends. I'm just fucking annoyed when somebody obviously repeats word for word an opinion that someone respected stated weeks before, hardly changing the wording at all and I feel like I'm the only one who notices.
