A new lease of life for the Eminem Show

Postby cityfan31 » Aug 13th, '11, 09:30

Damn, I realised yesterday that the versions of the Eminem Show and the MMLP I have had on my ipod all these years were shitty copies I bought on a beach when I was about 10 years old.

I've had the real copies sat on my shelf for years and I've never actually put the high quality version on my ipod. What a fuckin idiot.

Combine this with buying some decent headphones instead of crappy £9.99 ones and I can finally enjoy these albums in the glory they deserve.

On the subject of headphones, are beats by dre worth the money? I got a 21st birthday coming up...

I'm using beats by dre right now and yes they are fucking unbelievable. I got the studio ones, don't go for anything less.

Also, I got mine second hand on eBay, cus brand new they're like $500. 3 months old on eBay, no damage, still under warranty... $152.50

I have been on the look-out for headphones for a minute and common consesus seems to be that Beats by Dre are awesome quality but not value for money. More fashion accessory than anything. If you want excellent music quality at a reasonable price try look out for sennheiser headphones.

And true- CDQ is just awesome with good stereo sound.

^Be careful with Sennheiser headphones, some are amazing, others are complete bullshit.
As for the beats by dre, I have the new Solo HDs because I didn't feel like spending more than 200 bucks and they aren't really inferior to the Studios.
If you listen to music in HQ mp3 format (320kbps) rather than FLAC or any other losless format, the beats Solo HDs will work perfectly fine for you.
If you're an audiophile, I'd look for some Audio Technica's

I love mine. Yes, they're overpriced, but whatever.

Any advice on the good ones then?

Well, like I said, the beats Solo HDs and the beats Studios are the best beats by dre ones, even though you will pay more than they are worth simply because they're a fashion accessoire.
As for the Sennheiser ones, the best ones (from what I know) are the Sennheiser RS180 and the Sennheiser HD-595 Consumer, these are absolutely stunning but extremely expensive too. If you're looking for something cheaper that's still good, go with the Sennheiser RS 120 Consumer.
And as I mentioned, if you're one of these people that listen to music in FLAC and not in mp3 format, then look for some Audio Technicas.

Beats by Dre are decent and have good bass, but you can get way better for the same money.
