Why Em Doesn't Do Diss Records No Mo'

I think he's a strong believer in Karma now.

He made fun of numerous people for not having the caliber to make it 'big' and a few years later Em, himself, is suffering and his career is down the tubes. He used to make fun of Whitey Ford for being fat and a few years later Em, himself, is obese. He made fun of Ja for being on pills/drugs and a few years later Em, himself...well, you get where I'm going with this.

Just a theory. But it would explain why he hasn't really gone at anyone (excluding Nick and Mariah), at least not to the extent he used to. He just kinda throws out killin' it verses/random disses to no one in particular. What do you guys think?

Hip-hop is a competitive art form. Always has been. Dissing aids creativity. To be honest, it would help Em. He'd have a set topic to work around and wouldn't have to force topics. He'd be able to come out with some creative, funny punchlines as they'd actaully be about something rather than the random shit he comes out with post-Relapse. And most of all, it would add a bit of hunger to his work. Em's deadpan humour these days would be perfect on a diss track - could have easily ripped Bis a new asshole with a sarcastic Canibitch type song.

Why would you diss Mariah 3 times but not diss Canibus? It's just weird. And saying "no more beef" on the same album where he throws out a Mariah shot?

No. I think Relapse Eminem was Em being who people wanted him to be, who he thought he should be, and what his old self was like. I think Recovery is himself, in every way. Whether the public response to Relapse brought that to his attention or not, it doesn't matter. But that's just my opinion.
