I appreciate rap for what it is.

I also am now able to appreciate other forms of music for what they are. No other genre has excited me as universally as Rap did, but I've found gems here and there. After Relapse dropped, I was so into Modest Mouse that I was equally excited for R2 or a new MM album.

Rap can get boring, but so can any other genre.

Been feeling that way for a while now, perhaps it's just a temporary thing cause I tend to go on rap binges for a few months at a time, get bored than decidedly dick around in other genres that Hip Hop can't provide what I need. Only things I've been listening to resembling Hip Hop recently are Doomtree and The Roots, with a little bit of shit like Nujabes. I dunno brag rap and punchline rap tend to bore me, though I was never really a fan of punchline rap to begin with.

I've been waiting on JT to make a new album for years now, it seems like a waste of musical talent for him to go so long without putting anything out. I guess he's just been focusing on movies and stuff, but for me he is one of very few male pop/r&b/callitwhateveryouwant artists that is genuinelly cool to me and pulls it off without being cheesy. Frank Ocean would be the latest example of his kind. But yea, he made some fucking great music and his second album was brilliant.
