To be fair it's not only Dre that gets credit where he perhaps doesn't deserve. Eminem could also be guilty of claiming credit for beats that weren't necessarily done solely by him, or for beats where he just added the finishing touches. Here's an example where Easy Mo Bee is being interviewed and talks about
Runnin'.
From around 5:50 in he says "Eminem said he produced the song, but he didn't say it properly - he should've said he
remixed the song, but Easy Mo Bee originally produced the song..." and goes on to talk about the original concept of the track:

Fire. The producer Kwame mentions it here:
"Everyone thought that Eminem produced the track," explained the producer. "I understand that because of Eminem's stature. It was frustrating, but when Lloyd started doing press he really acknowledged me as the producer."
