New Lupe Song - LightWork

Postby Slim Fiasco » Oct 20th, '11, 19:57

This is the first track off Friend Of The People. Sounds good on first few listens but I'm not sure if it's a big improvement from Lasers. Or at least not as big as I'd expect it to be but I'll let it sink in for a while.

I was just gonna post this. haha :y:

I gotta admit, I'm a sucker for these types of tracks, so I'll definitely be bumping this a lot.

Not sure exactly what you mean, Lasers was dope as fuck.

I wasn't big on the production of Lasers and even though this new instrumental is decent, it doesn't exactly fit my taste. The only track off Lasers I really loved was All Black Everything and I think he should focus on similar songs. Of course, I'd mostly like to hear him on violin based beats such as those in F&L or something Kanyeish but we'll see what he can offer. I'm looking forward to his new releases either way.

Yeah, figured.

I really loved the production, but that's probably because I'm generally into electro music.

Nah, it's a mixtape that should have dropped back in '09, right after Enemy Of The State.

Cool man, I'm glad that some people enjoyed it. And I actually know Hip-Hop heads that count Lasers as their favorite Lupe album so it's all about personal preferences I guess.

The lyricism was toned down and he went easy on the metaphors and shit, no doubt about that.

However, if it sounds good, it IS good in my book. :y:
