Immortal Technique "The Martyr" [Free Album/Mixtape]

Postby AbramIsaac » Oct 28th, '11, 21:49

The Martyr is out as of yesterday, I believe.

I'm sort of surprised this isn't all over the forum yet. I mean, I know he doesn't have a "Hopsin" level of support here, but he's definitely one of the largest artists in the underground. I personally don't listen to him as much as I once did, but he's a talented lyricist, regardless of the ones perception of the validity of his beliefs. Anyway, it's out, and it's up for download straight from Viper Records.

No problem man, I just did a random google search and it sorta popped up.

Seriously though, The Middle Passage may very well be like Tech's Detox. It's been a long time, and he doesn't mind putting out material, as long as it doesn't hold the same expectancy as The Middle Passage does. Or maybe I'm wrong and it really does take several years to craft a masterpiece.

Yeah a lot of the samples I knew, which is a bit disappointing coz I like to hear new shit...

Like The Martyr was The Beatles Eleanor Rigby, Angels & Demons was Dream On by Aerosmith (same sample as Sing For The Moment) Rich Man's World was Money Money Money by Abba, Eye In The Sky was Eye In The Sky by the Alan Parsons Project, Goonies was from The Goonies OST...And a few others I've heard sampled before...

But as an album/mixtape I really can't fault in any which way shape or form...

I was a big fan of The Revolutionary Vol. II, but The 3rd World was a bit of a let down so I was really pleased to see such a solid release from Tech...Got me looking forward to The Middle Passage...

10/10 for me...
