In fact, there are some good songs to listen to before going to sleep. But I'm really surprised to see that people think Drake is actually better than Eminem or something. If you want to compare them, then do it right.
I think I like the "poppiest" song Drake ever made. (Find your love) He's a decent artist to me, but this album is already getting overrated as fuck (AOTY? Really?) and I hate that. That's why I also hate from times to times on WTT , because they were overrated as FUCK. Great album, YEAH. but it doesn't deserve to be called classic. Just like this album, it's good but nowhere a classic.
Drake's singing > Eminem's
Eminem's rapping > Drake's.
Drake is a better singer but nowhere near a better rapper. And he will never be. And it's true that he mixes singing with rap and it does have a good vibe, but I can't take him seriously as a rapper.
This album is AOTY worthy brah. What are YOUR top 5 of the year if neither WTT or Take Care are in it? I'm not gonna bash you for putting BME in it (I'm sure it's in your Top 5) but I really, REALLY think that it's far from it and should not be in anyone's Top 10. The songs with a direction are terrible and his punchlines evidently grew worse. It's flaws have become easier to point out as time went on. But, BME has three really good songs at least.
Take Care definitely has gotten incredible reception and deservingly so. It could be seen as a classic in the future, the reviews for this album are bound to be similar to those of MBDTF. Difference is, that this album deserves much appraisal.
Drake is a great rapper. He's an above average lyricist and a good rhymer. Lyrically, I prefer Take Care to BME (by a whole lot, may I add). His flows are definitely more varied on this album too. Listen to HYFR, he experiments with a double time flow and the result was amazing. Eminem may be a better rhymer, and better with flows but that's about it. This is currently of course, Recovery Eminem was so much better than current Eminem that's it embarrassing.

I agree, everything that isn't hardcore rap sucks.
haha.
Considering the market is over-saturated with softer hip hop, this excuse doesn't work. That notion would apply if a aggressive album is overlooked because it doesn't suit the current trend in hip hop. Not even WTT was an aggressive album, in fact it was far from it, but it receieved recognition and acclaim because it was a good album. We're in 2011 right now dun, hip hop has completely shifted, no one is gonna bypass an album because of the direction of the album.
It's a cop out to try and use that excuse for someone's opinion of the album.
You wanna know my opinion? Drake's albums sucks. For starters it's not even a hip hop record, from the outset this dude tries to get you in a mood for love, which can be ignored if there's quality material, but simply, there's far too much singing on the album for it to be considered even a hip-pop track, it's simply not hip hop. Happening to rhyme every now and then doesn't make you a rapper, or it a rap album, otherwise countless Country singers who also use profuse rhymes in their lyrics could label themselves as a rappers, rhyming doesn't mean rapping.
Drake is an artist who's gonna sound really good when he first comes out because he's fresh and his sound is novel and interesting, but the trouble was he had no charisma and his formula was predictable. He ran out of things to talk about after one EP, as good as that was. The album is full of fillers may sound appealing to most now, but just like Thank Me Later, within a few months it's gonna be overlooked. This album is no different to his first.
The reason why people don't jump on someone like B.o.B when he does his singing and crossover tracks is simple, well for one they do, otherwise B.o.B wouldn't come out the way he did on his last mixtape and shout so loudly about being No Genre. Anyway, the other reason is simple, B.o.B is NOT competing. B.o.B is releasing, but not competing, Drake clearly is, and when he comes out saying that the throne is for the taking, people are gonna stand up. If Drake came out with tracks that sound half as good I'm on One, this album would be dope. But he didn't, he went FAR too left.
The initial response to his first album was great, but within months the flaws became more and more evident his formula was noticeably stale. Then Drake went in and recorded this album because of that response, and came out saying this would be different. It's the same, and within a few months the response will be the same. Then Drake will come out with his next album saying what he was before this.
Oh yeah, RIP to the Overweight Lover too. We always had nothing but love for you Mr. Myers.
Shut the fuck up.

that took place earlier in this thread, pretty much said everything that could be said about the album. Personally, I wasn't feeling it (besides a few tracks).
