Two Questions..

Postby Amaranthine » Nov 20th, '11, 22:27

1. What's the point of Insane's 2nd verse? It's totally random. The shit about the lawnmower and training bra and balls like King Kong. Maybe I'm misssing something, but I don't see what it has to do with the rest of the song.

2. In Difficult, the part about "those two little beautiful boys of yours"...doesn't Proof have six kids? :confusion:

2 sons & I think the others were with someone else. Not his wife.
And yes, cause he's "insane"

I know Proof had a few nicknames (Dirty Harry,Big Proof, Dudey) but was he also called "Oil Can Harry"?? WTF? Never heard of that before today.

Amadeo wrote:Nothing in Insane has anything to do with anything. It's what a lot of rappers call a "straight spitting/hiphop song" to showcase his skills as an emcee. Eminem has loads of random songs like this. On Fire is one example from Recovery.

But everything except the second verse follows along the "stepfather rape" storyline. The second verse comes out of nowhere. Why would he throw in a showcase verse in a song that tells a story?

And thanks to everyone who cleared up the Difficult question. :)

You're correct when you say there's a bit of a fictional story in the first verse. However, the third verse doesn't really continue the story, it just has references to his stepdad. In fact, the third verse is nearly as random as the second. The appeal of these songs is the humor/flow/rhyming. "I think I'm fucking MeeEEEeelting" gets me every time.

Okay, gotcha. Thank you.

Such a great song. You know what else I've noticed? Em's recent work, at least TO ME, is a bit....boring. It's lacking personality or something. The delivery just bores me. In "Insane," the delivery, the attitude, the personality, the way he says shit...ahh.

:flutter:
"This dude doing this interview wants me to spin a few,
Lyrics while I tie my tennis shoes in the nude
A romantic interlude in a livin’ room,
In an inner tube with a dude with a bit of lube
Fuck that I’m sniffin’ glue, sippin' gin & juice,
And a little bit of paint thinner with my dinner too,
You better pay me for my bars like your rent is due,
Now hurry up and finish dude before I finish you."

Wrong.

First verse ends with: "Aw, go fuck his brains out if any's left in his head" by his Mom to his stepfather, second verse starts: "Did you get him?" by his Mom again which continues with the story perfectly, and then his step father explains he couldn't rape him, he met slim shady instead.

This is one of my favorite songs since he came back lol, I say it everytime it's mentionned. There's so much passion, and it's a really funny song. The second verse about meeting Shady is just pure imaginative, I can picture the stepfather running to rape him and finding out Little Eminem became a small version of blond shady with a Jason Mask anad a chainsaw lmao.

I love everything about this song, seriously, his delivery is great, the rhyming is great, the flow is great and I like the way he puts so much passion in it. I wonder why he doesn't use the same type of voice..

Oh and by the way, I can't understand fuckers on SL who says this song is facepalm worthy.
