This should be in Chit-Chat.

I don't see anything wrong with Eminem being in the "pop" section. I mean it's short for popular and that's exactly what Eminem is.

Still, the pop genre itself has negative connotatations. Pop music is usually unclassifiable into any genre, while Eminem is quite clearly a rap artist.

idk this is definition on wiki pop is often oriented toward a youth market, usually consisting of relatively short, simple songs utilizing technological innovations to produce new variations on existing themes. Not really what i consider his music the only song that fits this is love the way you lie not his hole album.

Pop isn't "short for popular". It's a specific genre. Eminem is not pop lol, even though one might call much of Recovery slightly "poppish" in relative terms.

A lot of the music Drake makes literally could be qualified as pop.

Eminem has never made a single pop song.

I totally agree with you mate. But wasn't pop was originally just "popular" music? That's what I tried to say, but yeah, there's no doubt its evolved into its own genre now.

I defiantly worded my first post wrong. I do agree with what you said, but I strongly disagree with you in regards to Recovery being "slightly poppish". Even LTWYL isn't pop, it's a song about domestic abuse.

LTWYL definitely doesn't fit that definition, except "oriented toward a youth market".

When I think of pop, I think of songs that have mass appeal, period. /2cents
