It's absolutely absurd that The Marshall Mathers LP didn't win in 2000. And it's really quite silly for 'Dark Fantasy' to not even be NOMINATED.

Nothing was as big in 2010 in terms of creating discussion, he really pushed it.

Definitely another slap in the face for hip-hop in a main category.

BUT, it is just a trophy decided for by a panel of people. In reality, it's about the work and the effect that work has on a genre and a generation. If I was an artist, I would HONESTLY prefer to have a genuine influence and effect in that sense, rather than trophies. If I had to choose, it would always be the reaction. Kanye is too obsessed with awards.

I honestly suspect that they could of done this on purpose for this very attention (viewing figures, media talk) and also to provoke Kanye.

Everybody acts like Kanye's outbursts are bad but in reality the media lap it up and it's only good for them. This may sound slightly paranoid or ironically like something Kanye would think up himself (them doing it on purpose) but, you can't trust mainstream organizations.

Seems very possible given the critical acclaim and respect this album got, and given Kanye's infamous reactions to this kind of news, that this was maybe a provocation.

Kanye certainly should be in Album of The Year. The album received very strong reviews and besides what happend to the motto of having 1 album per the major genres. I see 2 maybe 3 pop albums and 1 rock on the album of the year list and no hip-hop. But i'm pretty sure Kanye would've lost out to Adele anyway.
