Great Punchlines...

Postby EminemBase » Dec 1st, '11, 17:19

Two which stick out in my mind are these:

Kanye - "you say I think I'm never wrong, you know what? maybe you're right" (v. clever)

And this one:

Swizzz - "I don't have haters only fans in denial" (fucking great)

Post your favourite...

I know Em has come out with a lot of cheesy ones at his attempts lately but he has a few which are really on the money. One of my favourite is...

Who forms pyramids and raps circles around square lyricists?

That works inherently, it's very good.

Oh and one from Kanye which isn't a punchline but just a great line...

Sophisticated ignorance, write my curses in cursive

< That's a great fucking line. Ye is definitely improving lyrically.

Just few Example's:

Realize what I wrote in my verses
So my existence negates the phrase 'nobody's perfect
- Next Level

I rob holy prophets to pay for my sins
Time flies but not since I amputated its wings
- Event Horizon
[Rollefsen] - SajN retired, bitch got old, unlike Sams "ladies".

Another Kanye one I thought of...

Some of em dyslexic, their favourite 50 Cent song - 12 Questions

Ye can be hit and miss but occasionally come out with a great line.

*name* wrote:"The holiest wars bring profits and I don’t mean Moses" - Natti from CunninLynguists

Profits/Prophets, it's a serious song but that shit's crazy.

I don't see why that's so great tbh, basic pun.

Context of it is nice though...

Not really a punchline, rather an excerpt from the song "uncle sam goddamn" that holds one continuous idea.. Some of the truest lines ever put together in a song, imo.

"You don't give money to the bums
On the corner with a sign, bleeding from their gums
Talking much, you don't support a crackhead
What you think happens to the money from yo' taxes

Shit the governments an addict
With a billion dollar a week kill brown people habit
And even if you ain't on the front line
When the master yell crunch time you right back at it

You ain't look at how you hustling backwards
And the end of the year add up what they subtracted
3 outta twelve months your salary
Paid for that madness, man that's sadness

What's left get a big ass plasma
To see where they made Dan Rather point the damn camera
Only approved questions get answered
Now stand your ass up for that national anthem"

Love theses Jay lines from the Grammy Family freestyle;

Inspired by Basquiat, my chariot's on fire
Everybody took shots, hit my body up, I'm tired
Build me up, break me down to build me up again
They like, "Hov we need you back so we can kill your ass again"
Hov got flow though he's no Big and Pac, but he's close
How I'm 'posed to win? They got me fighting ghosts

The more successful, the more stressful
The more and more I transform to Gordon Gekko
In the race to a billion got my face to the ceiling
Got my knees on the floor please Lord forgive him
Has he lost his religion, is the greed gon' get him?
He's having heaven on earth, will his wings still fit him?
Same sword they knight you they gon' good night you with
Sh.., Thats' only half if they like you
That ain't even the half what they might do
Don't believe me, ask Michael
See Martin, see Malcolm
You see Biggie, see Pac, see success and its outcome
See Jesus, see Judas; see Caesar, see Brutus
See success is like suicide
Suicide, it's a suicide
If you succeed, prepare to be crucified
[/i
