Better Artist Overall- 50 or Ja Rule?

Postby Wreck » Dec 3rd, '11, 23:21

To all the Eminem & 50 fans, please not be biased about this.

Overall, imo, 50 had the best album of the two with GRODT, but The Massacre= horrible, Curtis= decent, Before I Self Destruct= ok album.

While Ja has done absolutely done nothing since 50 killed him in that beef, he still had some great records before that beef really ensued after the studio stabbing. Sidebar: I am not asking who is a better lyricist, gangster rapper, who won the beef, who has done better since the beef. I addressed all that, now give me your honest opinion, from a hip hop standpoint.

And as far as Ja is concerned:

Venni Vetti Vecci (1999)- good album
Rule 3:36- pretty good, even better then VVV
Pain Is Love- Possibly his best album of his music catalogue. I'm Real was a smash hit too.
The Last Temptation (bought that CD)- very good as well. Mesmerized= another smash hit.
Blood In My Eye- not a good album, his worst imo
R.U.L.E.- New York another smash hit. Good album.

Pain Is Love 2 coming soon. 50's new CD coming soon too.

The Massacre is fucking garbage. Too many singles, too many whack singles.

Disco Inferno was good, & should of been his 1st single, cause Candy Shop was funny............it was that awful. Idk why people like this album, too fucking commercial, too whack, and a horrible comeback album after such a masterpiece in Get Rich. :facepalm

50 Cent because of everything he did up until The Massacre, which I agree was a shit album. Candy Shop as the lead single for the most highly-anticipated hip-hop album in years was a huge fail. 50 has never recovered, although I do like BISD (in particular the first half)

This.

Most people consider 50 Cent to be the better artist, cause of Get Rich, Power of A Dollar, and all his poppy bullsh*t singles afterwards, but Ja has always had the same formula. One or two really good lead singles, and a bunch of other just songs focusing on his personal experiences, or the ghetto almost.

50 is a 50-50 artist, he does all this i'm gangster, I got shot 9 times shit, then goes ahead and does a song called I'll take you to the Candy Shop. Dre even questioned 50 why he was doing a song like 21 questions, after he talked about all this thug shit.

Bizarre > Ja Rule

Why would you even compare a legend like 50 Cent to an older version of Soulja Boy?? :coffee: :facepalm

I was always under the impression that 21 Questions was more for the girls tbh.

I'm not sure if Candy Shop killed his mainstream career really. The album still sold very well, and even 2 years after that he had Ayo Technology which was a massive hit, and that was without much radio airplay.

I've come to the conclusion that you're a moron. How is Souljah Boy even in the same conversation with Ja Rule? Never again will I hope to hear such stupidity from a member here. 50= 1 great album, nothing good sense. How is he a legend because of that? People dick ride him so much it's not even funny.

The album sold well because millions of GIRLS bought it, not as many rap fans, cause the album was trash. With a million club songs on an album of course it's gonna sell, 50 dumbed himself down, turned whack, and claimed to be a record seller even though we know the demographic of his fans for that album. Come on now.

For skill and vocal quality, I'd have to say Ja.

For overall charisma and club presence, I'd say Fiddy.
I enjoy both of their music though, so I don't really care.
