This is one of those albums I sometimes forget I have, then going through my ipod, I see it and listen to it front-to-back. My favorite Jay-Z album definitely, but the greatest of all time? I don't think so.

Just like a discussion on what's a classic album. This album is awesome, one of the reasons why I bought it after like 8 year since release. BUT, it wasn't enough culturally significant and/or it didn't change the rap game like...for example. Paid In Full, Illmatic, 36 Chambers, Reasonable Doubt, The Marshall Mathers LP...
Bottom line, the album is awesome but way too fucking far from being "Greatest album of all time".

No one ever said that. But fact remains Tupac is one of the most overrated hip hop artists there has ever been. His good but he is far from the pedestal many place him on.

Jay is SO overrated too. So many people dickride Jay, and half, well probably more then half, of his lyrics are lyrics OTHER people wrote. Listen to '03 Bonnie & Clyde. Guess who he stole that from?

On topic, Black Album is one of the greatest hip hop albums ever, & personally my favorite Jay album. Yeah, it's better then Reasonable Doubt & Blueprint 1. But I have to say their a few other classic albums as well. Gonna list them, if I forget any, please do correct.
