I love Recovery, but to me... it just doesn't sound like an Eminem album. The lyrics are there. Its just the overall feel of the album that kinda turns me off a little bit. Cold Wind Blows, On Fire, Cinderella Man, So Bad, Going Through Changes are pretty much the stand out tracks for me. In a way Recovery was a good/bad choice in Eminem's career.

He gained heaps of teenage mainstream fans with Love The Way You Lie. Don't get me wrong the song is good, the way that the lyrics were put together was clever. But now, Eminem is known as the "Love The Way You Lie" rapper to the magazines and such like that, and Love The Way You Lie has become his highest selling single I believe. The media is portraying him as a Pop Icon, I mean Eminem a pop icon? :facepalm Thats what he feared to become around the MMLP era, he didn't want to be known as a Pop Icon/Artist.

Recovery was also a good choice at the same time. It proved to the media and also the fans that he is back and in a way still has it. Coming off Relapse, Recovery seemed like it was a classic I guess you could say. He still has some gritty lyrics on the album aswell which was great to see, I mean look at On Fire for instance. That song is just insane, real underground type shit. So the lyrics, the flow and delivery is all there, its just the overall feel. It doesn't feel like an Eminem album to me personally.

Now, I've been spinning Relapse a lot in the past weeks. Ive loved Relapse from day one. Relapse was refreshing, because it was pretty much different from everything else that was being released, it was a fresh breath of air. Now.. Recovery, wasn't that. It didn't feel like that. Relapse to me sounds like an Eminem album, the way the album was composed is great. I don't care if people don't like the accent or not, the accent was new. Don't get me wrong, to some the album would've sounded better with his normal voice, and Ive pondered on this aswell. But in a way the accent made the album. It made Relapse unique.

Bad Meets Evil was a steer in the right direction, except for Lighters, but we all know why that was on there. Lighters pretty much gets the same treatment as I give Love The Way You Lie, the lyrics are good but its just too mainstream. Which makes it really hard for me to listen to.

Overall I hope his next album doesn't sound like Recovery, I want something refreshing like Relapse was. But at the same time I love Recovery, but the album is a hit and miss for me.

Lmao most likely, I'm gonna give it a crack too though.

I'll be more than happy to help with that album bro. But seriously, it's going to take some time!

The first part of Infinite is ridiculous. I know it gets hate, but it is what it is. Just Em rhyming his ass off.

Kanye will never EVER be able to do something as good as that.

Wayne is even a better lyricist than Kanye, I don't even know why would anyone consider a legendary rapper. He's far from being a good rapper, not being biased because I actually enjoy his albums but not for his lyricism, it's only for the features and the production, nothing else!

Kanye is a much better lyricist than Wayne.

Kanye actually has some really clever cocky lines and little punchlines and he has a real personality on the mic. Wayne is just corny, I could write what Wayne writes.

i agree, and i respect kanye he is a perfectionist and puts in every ounce of himself into his craft and at least doesn' treat it as some big joke, the production on MBDTF was great.

Not really, I say it because Recovery isn't a classic. But I don't like the term "classic" being applied to everything Em does just because it's him.
