2012

Postby EyeQ200 » Dec 23rd, '11, 13:13

I know this topic will be COMPLETELY played out over the next few days and weeks, so i thought that i'd annoy you all and make a thread for it:

What are your expectations for hip hop in 2012?

*Any albums your looking forward to?
*Any collaborations your looking forward to?
*Who do you think will be the MC of the year?

Have fun.
Fuck a sig, i go accapella.

To be honest, i didn't rate Kanye (i still don't as a rapper) BUT i checked out MBDTF and i've played it over and over again over the past 3 days, the production and the deepness of all of it just blows me away, really overwhelmed.

I can't wait for the Nas & Kendrick projects too!

Feature Presentation is the albums i'm most looking forward too in the future PERIOD! I just love collaborations and this is like the ultimate package, Tech N9ne does it, but he never ventures too far out of his comfort zone on his collaboration albums, so i'll be looking forward to this Budden tape (Also, the Slaughterhouse album!)

Saigon (mixtape + album), Nas (twice?), Talib Kweli, Masta Ace, Big Krit, R.A. the Rugged Man, Kendrick Lamar, KRS-One + possible Eminem and Lupe Fiasco albums.

First single off Kweli's fortcoming album is pure fire so my expectations are through the roof. Saigon hinted that his mixtape will be different from GSNT ("good gym music") but I'm gonna check it out anyway. His album is probably what I'm expecting the most from since GSNT lyrically was one of the sharpest this year (shame about the poor mastering of his vocals).

All those I mentioned above have the potential to put out a classic (or something close at least) so I'm confident we are going to hear hip hop shine even more than it did this year.

Eh.. How can I explain that.

It seems like it became cool again to like Lil Wayne, Kanye, Jay-Z but mostly Drake.
