The vocal effects didn't seem to include any noticable chorus nor to much limiting (with the exception of won't back down) by my ears. But you are right about the layering part though. Such a fundamental aspect of eminems vocal library.
I couldn't really care less with how he sounds, as far as I can see, most of the stuff from Hell was decently done.
I noticed Em' uses a lot of reverb' too..Or maybe that's because he records in a shitty room..
