Eminem did just well.
He a) actually has talent and b) took criticism and improved. You think he would be where he is today if he still rhymed like with Soul Intent or on Infinite? Hell no. He realized people weren't fucking with it and came back with a better product.
Couldn't have said it better.

I hate being dramatic and doing soap opera shit like, aww poor me, I'm getting older and I got to put it behind me.
People tell me not to care what people think, but at the end of the day, it's hard not to when some speak the truth and give valid feedback that I can agree with.
What can a man do, hip-hop has been a part of my life since the dark ages.
All I had was a tape and a piece of paper when I was 14, other people can say this shit and be talking out there ass, but I still have that tape and paper in my house. I keep it real, I don't fabricate my shit for anyone even if I really should be because shit is fucked up for me. (Sob story plug.)
Just raw, anger and hatred spews from my mouth. So fuck it. My voice might be annoying to some but others like it, it's a matter of opinion, I'm just a guy that enjoys the art, I just use music as a outlet for my patented messed up life. Somewhere I can escape to. Everyone has a way to express themselves..Even if it's corny.
I can come off as a asshole or an idiot that has no idea what he is doing because this is the internet.
People can say anything like, omg, I'm rich and own 12 record labels, and people would probably believe it.
So I find it hard to believe that when I say stuff like, I used to work at Sony and the Entertainment Centre doing music production, people think I'm a lying piece of shit.
Why would I lie about that? There's no gain in it, actually, the place was run-down and crap.
I'm seriously getting sick of kids, acting like they know what the fuck goes on in the real world, they may have some idea yeah, but they have no knowledge at all about how difficult it is to make it in the music business.
Not Speech, some other dunces that like to criticize me without giving a decent reason, I have a pretty good following, you guys might think Atone is just a typical, omg I have lots of fans so I'm good at rapping guy, but he's been through his share of bullshit, I now realize how hard it is to make a sufficient image for you people, I think it's good experience for me to know how retarded your brains are, so I'll be prepared to blow up later.
I'm just getting more and more pissed off and will eventually become a cynical asshole.
Didn't read, lol.

You guys do know there's a concept behind that (old) image right? Sweatpants and blazer in an open park, think about it a bit more deeper. That picture represents my lazy comfortable side and my professional side, standing in an big wide open park is like my music one big open book. Just wanted to clear that up too for anyone wondering or thinking it's just some random pic. Everything's done for a reason even if you can't see it. I'm not chirping you Slimm, I like you and I don't think you were going at me, just letting other's know, lol. Not to mention I was like 18/19 at the time, give a guy a break, haha.

I wasn't really mocking you or anything bro I was just thinking why would anyone wear that lol. The thing is though, since it's obvious you do put a lot of thought in it, that it's a waste that the picture quality isn't that great.
If you really want to pull off a concept like that then you should really do it over the top, make a huge contrast. Make it funny, make it mesmerizing. I can think of loads of great pictures if I have to work with that concept.
A picture done wrong can easily backfire like it did now, since I (just an observer) automatically thought that you were unable to dress yourself properly. Hope you get my point.

^^ Well said dude, and I didn't take offence or anything I just knew you guys didn't know the story behind it. You make tons of sense bro, but like I said in all fairness that pic is from 2008/2009 when I didn't have a grasp on everything as much as I wanted to. But I'm older now and have learned a lot despite what people think and I think a lot of you are in for a HUGE surprise when I'm finished with my final product, and I'm nowhere close to stopping yet, lol.
I think this last thing I'll say can relate to everyone who's been criticized here; our music is a work in progress and we're forever changing, just because we don't got everything on lock today doesn't mean we won't have it tomorrow. We're all human and we all learn, but we're just having some fun in the mean time and just because a hand-full of people don't like someone's music doesn't mean they don't have lovers. That's gotta be one of the most ignorant things I've ever heard.
Constructive/controversial topic but nonetheless happy I'm part of it!

Not hating on you Spagg and anything like that, but what a load of crap.
This whole thread fucked up my day.. Why would there be anything wrong with people that rap? If your like me and get barely any money, what do I have to lose really..
Same goes for Atone, he's in a pretty bad spot and just likes squeezing tracks out of his ass each day to impress his friends.. Meanwhile, you guys sit there on your chairs and say, hey bro, get a better mic lol, omg terrible quality, who gives a shit? Focus on his lyrics and shit..
Obviously, he needs work on flow and shit, but come the fuck on, get over yourselves and just accept him for the time being as he is. He's got some pretty good connections already, something I lack, I'd rather have connections then skill anyway.
Atone gets props from credible people, even though he lacks technical skill.
It really makes me think, imagine if any of us even bothered with getting in contact with these people, we'd probably get signed.
Hell, if someone handed me 2 million bucks or gave me 34k listens on my Soundclick or w/e, I'd delete my account here and give you all the finger.
No seriously, I wouldn't do that shit, but you know what I mean..
I haven't been set up by Atone to say this shit like you all probably think, it's just what I think.
Pretty poor rebuttal by me, but think about it.

If we accepted where you were, you wouldn't know how to improve or what you're doing wrong. I agree when people trash and expect you to pull out cash for a $100 mic and you can't even afford a damn meal at McDonalds, cause that's where I am. My family isn't broke, just me, and I've been searching for a job for a long time lol. But yeah. Tbh, a thought I always follow is "make something I would listen to." If it's not what you'd listen to, you might wanna go back to the lab. Cause if you hate your work, what makes you think anyone else would think otherwise, y'know?
