on some real shit though, mainstream is going tech, and I the only way that I can see Tech *not* taking the throne, is for Em to start getting up to his tempo, because tech is on steroids or some shit at the moment

Tech being on steroids isn't a good thing, the guy releases more material and people can't even catch up with what he's doing. He's pretty bad at marketing, if he released Fuck Food, Worldwide Choppers and Am I a Psycho as singles for All 6's and 7's, he would have sold way more than he actually did.
It seems like he just wants to release as much as possible, and that's not a good thing.

I mean, I'm glad he releases more because that's more material to bump but..

Just picture this.

Let's say Fuck Food was the first single. With a video.

Tech, for the first time ever, announces on his facebook: All 6's and 7's is delayed for two weeks.. But if you're my fan, you'll be happy because it's for a great cause, and you'll all be mindfucked.

Then bam, he releases So Lonely with Eminem as a single. Then a video. Then when the hype for that single dies down, he releases Worldwide Choppers or Delusional/Mental Giant and then a video for the fans, Am I a Psycho.

Album total sales = more than 500 000 albums sold.
Popularity: Off the roof.

He's bad at promoting his albums. I'm sure a lot of his fans think "Wow, he's putting way too much album, i'll just download this one instead of buying it, that's no biggie, he'll release something else that I could buy by the end of the year" and i'm not criticizing at all because I love Tech, he's actually my favorite rapper right now (he's even my desktop wallpaper lmao.) but you gotta admit it's true.

Tech deserves way more. He deserves a goat status.

And @Trimss, I think you're looking too deep into the promotion aspect. I think, scratch that, I know tech makes music because he loves it more than anything in the world. You can see it when he's writing shit and listening to beats in a studio.

I'll give you that I was being naive about not considering his marketing style, but this dude is touring every single year. Which is a very very good way to get your name out there. We wouldn't know about Tech (most likely) if it wasn't for how hard he tours.

Regardless, in my post that you responded to, I was referring to him from a purely musical standpoint. Right now, Tech will steamroll almost anybody lyrically. And he just keeps somehow getting better and better. That's all I was saying.

And also, he really isn't putting out too much for the fans to keep up with. He gives us over a month in advance anticipate new EP's and shit. How long does it take someone to listen to an album? Him releasing like this, is just increasing the amount of time it takes for his new shit to get old. That's how it is for me anyway. I get what you're saying though. I just think it's wrong to tell an artist to slow down while they're putting out great material.

not really sure about all the Mayday beats either...they themselves sound good on them but i prefer Tech on more mainstream type beats like the ones matic lee, david sanders, and young fyre used to make
