So every lyrics site I've seen has the line "we know that no matter how many knives we put in each other's backs that we'll have each other's backs", but I can't hear 'knives', I hear an L where there should apparently be a V. I hear "no matter how many nails we put in each other's backs", as in rough, angry sex, a la Love You More. Even on the live version, it sounds like "nails".

What do you guys hear?

I hear knives, tbh. I didn't even think of nails, and knives makes sense, nails really doesn't, not in that line.

Anyway, check it out. Sounds like either nails or Niles to me, and Niles makes no sense whatsoever. But I really don't hear knives.

I have Dre Beats and I hear knives. There's a subtle "v" sound at the end of the word. Sounds like "niles" or "nails" if you listen quickly but it's not.
