Assassins creed series thread

Postby Ethos » Dec 3rd, '11, 09:51

For those of you who are into the games, how do you like them overall? The story is pretty interesting for me. And the character development seems to go really well, which a lot of games do fail to do. I do think that 2 and Brotherhood are the two better games of the series. Revelations wasn't too exciting but it was there for filling in the plot holes I guess. It was still a good game though. Discuss. :$

AC is amazing. I agree, I enjoyed AC2 and Brotherhood the most. First AC is great, but it gets annoying and repetetive-go to the city, find the person, ear drop, pickpockett...
Revelations is my least favourite. Guns just don`t belong to that game, and the constant den defense is annoying. But still a great game. And the story is epic.

I love them. But I've only played the first two games. I think I'll get Brotherhood soon.

But yeah, as I said, I love them. The story, the age it's played in, all the secrets and whatnot is amazing. :worship:

Love all the games. AC1 was slow but the story really picks up with AC2. I love the religious conspiracy and everything. AC2 literally gave me goosebumps when it had me unlock those codes Subject 16 left. The video that you get is even creepier. Then everything unraveling in Revelations...I love games like these. I love how they tie in the 2012 end of the world phenomenon too into the story...they're supposed to be completing the story this year by December 21st, I guess so that they don't look stupid for releasing the game after that date...it would be dumb to play Assassin's Creed III in 2013 trying to stop the end of the world in 2012 lol.

I bought AC2 last week, loving it so far (without prior knowledge of AC...They didn't have it but whatever, AC2 seems to have a separate story but a conjoining plot).

I feel Assassin's Creed II alone is better than Uncharted...but that's just me. I never really got into those games. I feel like I should have but I just didn't.

So I never beat AC1 back when it came out, but I bought it again not too long ago...beat it last night. AC1 is pretty fucking great too, but they really built the series with AC2.

It's amazing how different the two games are. You're right though, AC1 was way too repetitive. It was basically: investigate, assassinate, repeat in every city. And there were only three cities too. :shakehead:

AC2 is the game that really caught my attention and made me fall in love with this series. It's almost a masterpiece.

The sequences between Sophia and Ezio flourish emotionally despite their brevity is really what I love the most. You believe these two characters are slowly falling in love despite the chaos around them.

It's a revolutionary game in terms of plot at least. The mechanics used to tell the story in this game, borrowing from mystical theories to conspiracy theories which are very prevalent today really engages me. Ubisoft really did well this by using a very interesting plot coupled with superb gameplay and astounding visuals. I haven't played Revelations yet, i understand that some of the criticisms of that is that it's more of the same, then again if it ain't broke. AC III has been in development for three years, and i certainly expect to really exploit all the possibilities with this one.

Revelations is only slightly worse than the other games...at least in terms of story. The story is still great, don't get me wrong, but it's not really an improvement...online is fun as hell. Combat is also quicker and Ezio really does fight like a master in this game. There are some very noticeable differences between Revelations and the other games...it's still a great game though and I suggest getting/renting it anyway. I also don't like the setting of Constantinople...the setting is the worst of the series IMO. As I said though, it's still a great game and I recommend it to anyone.

With that said I hope AC3 sticks more to AC2 than Revelations/Brotherhood in terms of gameplay and storytelling.
