I actually love this song, its sick as fuck! The beat is amazing, great use of the Korn song and the hook is catchy as fuck, the only thing I didn't like was Joel's verse!

What korn song?

I'm the biggest fan of Korn, but that's awesome if they sampled Korn, I might need to listen to this again

I dont know, just my thoughts..

The difference is that Slaughterhouse and Yelawolf are talented.

They deserve the limelight, and it's kind of hard to get when you're on a major label that isn't doing as much for you as it should. I don't think Em's holding back any, but I can't help but feel like Interscope isn't behind these groups like it should be.

Seriously, if you're not getting shit for promotion, you might as well stay independent and build your base by yourself.

Yes but in these days its not about being talented to become something. People make more money from fucking blogging than problaby Yela or slaughterhouse does. Worlds gone to shit.

Right.

The idea is that when you have the means to promote something that is actually worthwhile, you should.

My point is that promoting these guys doesn't make them the same as Young Money, as your original post seemed to imply.

Okay Im with you.
But how do you become famous and radioworthy if youre a talented rapper today? You sell out and sign to young money.
People dont want to listen to lyrical madness when they turn the radio on. Not even banging beats. They want to hear shit theyve heard before. Songs about partying and such stuff.
The only reason Eminem even got played on the radio in the first place i think was to provoke, which it did lol.
The only reason he gets played today is because he "sold out" and features the "big stars" of today like Rihanna and Bruno Mars. I have never heard 3 am on the radio. I do have heard Love the way you lie millions of times. Today though I only hear Love the way you lie part III (only rihanna, no eminem)...

Well, the selling out on Eminem's part is debatable. I don't think he sold out at all. He's still creating provocative content...it's just more accessible now, but I think that comes with natural growth and progression.

That's not necessarily the point though. I'm not saying these guys are going to take over the radio station. They wouldn't get the type of exposure that Lil Wayne would get, because they don't fit the mold that the current state of hip hop has created. That's fine, it's not necessary to hit that point.

I'm saying that these guys seem to receive next to no promotion at all. Now, when you have independent artists like Tech N9ne doing the kind of numbers he does, or an artist like Hopsin seriously climbing up the underground ranks in such a short time with nowhere near the kind of money that Shady Records has to throw around, then something isn't being done right.

They don't have to hit mainstream success. Yelawolf should have sold shitloads more than he did though. That album was full of radio-friendly content (namely, "Radio") and didn't receive any kind of push. He didn't have to do a Lil Wayne track, he did what could have been a hit on his own terms. What did Shady Records/Interscope do for him? Not nearly enough, when there are songs like that on the album that could blow up on the radio, and they don't due to lack of promotion.

Slaughterhouse is different, but even they could do well if marketed correctly. Don't target teenage girls. Sure, they buy a lot of music, but I doubt they're bumping much Tech N9ne, and he's doing well for himself. Slaughterhouse can appeal to hip hop heads, and with the type of machine that Shady Records has at its disposal, there's no reason they can't reach every hard core fan out there.

I'm just saying, you don't have to be Lil Wayne to be successful. You may not hit the same spots, but you can shine all the same. The problem is that Shady Records/Interscope doesn't seem to want to pay the fucking light bill, and all of this talent is being left in the dark.

Well put Isaac. I totally agree with you now!
Im having a feeling that this summer is going to be great for these guys. I see myself riding around, windows down and bumping songs that dont even exist yet haha.
Lets hope! :smoking:

We want Slaughterhouse to be successful. Unlike Yela.

Ya, we kinda want Shady Records to get big again like it was during its golden age.

This.
Shady Records need to use some money, to get results
I wanted an album so rugged nobody could touch it.
Spent a million a track and went over my budget.

i I Totally agree with Isaac that shady records needs to promote these artists especially with a view that they have potential for growth, great music and already have some sort of "hip-hop head" fanbase.

What i find disturbing however, is that both these guys' releases on Shady records (Hammerdance the single and Radioactive the album) are not half as interesting as their previous or free releases!!! I personally found hammerdance to be borin even in relation to the 5 other song covers they releases 2 weeks ago. Monsters in My Head is SOOO much fucking better man. I know, it was game's song so it could have been expensive but Shady records should be good with Boi-da-1 anyway to get those typa beats. Even Radioactive- no serious Yelaowlf fan loved that. Like was the highest level to tolerance.

Bottom line- great promotion besides awesome music not half-baked shit
