Yelawolf Discussion/Anticipation

Postby Man1x » Mar 29th, '12, 20:40

Yelawolf is coming out with some projects soon:

- The Travis Barker EP
- Love Story

I wanted to discuss the album name "Love Story," do you think that he is gonna make a soft album? I hope not, I want him to maintain some of his hard rock roots. Also, the Travis Barker EP will most definitely be rock so I know he isn't ditching that style completely. However, I want him to stay real on his solo albums and not make some pop shit, I think he touched that type of music enough on Radioactive. I honestly believe he will only make above average albums if he does what he did with Radioactive again, but I also believe that if he uses his hard rock roots and really anything non-pop music, along with his amazing musical creativity and if he shows progess as an artist from his last album, it will be classic. What do you all think?

Also, I was thinking. Do you think Yelawolf will have a feature on Strange Clouds? He knows B.o.B. from the collaboration they did on Yelawolf's "Ball of Flames: The Ballad of Slick Rick E. Bobby" mixtape. It was called "Run (feat. B.o.B & Shawty Fatt)" from back in 2008. Also, B.o.B kinda owes Eminem for the feature on "Airplanes, Pt. II," and for that matter, so does T.I. because he helped blow B.o.B up and hopped on "That's All She Wrote." For that reason, I also think he might be on T.I.'s album. If that's not enough, T.I., B.o.B, and Yelawolf are all southern rappers so that's another connection along with T.I.'s featured verse on the "Hard White (Up In the Club) [feat. T.I. & Slaughterhouse]." Opinions?

Yela and T.I would be amazing, over a southern beat, spitting slow/fast.

I don't think it's gonna be soft, Love Story will probably have a twist or something.

No, he won't. I feel like 'Love Story' will be his 'The Eminem Show', get more artistic and balance craziness with emotion and humor.
I really hope he peaks here, he's gonna get a lot of hate for doing this album just like Em did with TES but as time passes by they're gonna realize how dope it sounds.

I get where your coming from but "The Eminem Show" had classic rock roots, so I believe your wrong because Yelawolf already did that on 2008's "Stereo." I see it as him going pop which I hope with every bone in my body he doesn't. I know you don't mean that he will make an "The Eminem Show" by using classic rock rooted beats, I only mentioned that because I can't see what direction he will advance his sound except some hard rock, classic rock, alternative hybrid album beats. I know you ment it will be a more artistic album that is deeper, I'm all for that as long as it is not a pop type album. I just hope he does something amazingly original that hasn't been done, I want it to be a deep, thought provoking classic. However, I don't know if he should make that album yet, he hasn't really built the largest fan base yet and the impact that that album of that type of message or artistic expression could have shouldn't be wasted until he has at least his third album or until he gets bigger.

Edit: I made this thread because the album name, "Love Story", screams pop to me. I hope there will be a big twist on that title.

I really don't think Yelawolf would make a soft album...he doesn't strike me as the type of artist to do that.

I can't wait for Love Story man. I liked Radioactive, but I listened to that before Trunk Muzik. Then I listened to TM and loved it, and I kind of get the feeling that this album will be more like TM than Radioactive. These recent freestyles have been ridiculous, and that gives me a lot of hope.

I'd say that the new album won't be soft, if anything Radioactive will more than likely be the "softest" album he releases under Shady.

I see you mentioning B.o.B. Bobby did work with Yelawolf for Radioactive, but his shit wasn't included.
