Rock Bottom

Postby MikeNUFC » Mar 30th, '12, 11:56

Not a review as such, so put it in chit-chat.

Obviously the exceptional lyricism and amazing chorus are what makes this song so great, but what really gives it that special touch is the echo-y feel it has throughout (the beat and delivery), most notably on the intro. I was listening to it for the first time in a while and it really struck how much it adds.

It creates an vivid sense of isolation and fear and, combined with Em's voice, which is emotional BECAUSE it lacks emotion, makes for probably his best delivery ever.

Pretty pointless thread but whatever.

It's a great song. I like his emotionless deliveries, he uses one particularly effectively in Murder Murder too.
