I'm just happy that he's starting to turn into a clown by making songs like 'NIP' & 'Mercy'. I hope this is his new thing and his next album is full of songs like these. Ye never got hated on by his fans so this ought to be fun.
Nah, most of the time, the experiment's results are a good song. I do love experimenting but only when it's good, shit like Kid Cudi and Drake, they added shit to the genre no one ever added before. But on the other hand, when people experiment and the result is shit .. kinda like Oochie Wallie and Eminem's singing in You're Never Over, I just happen to not like it.
Mercy is a great track, it's a great showcase to GOOD's rappers, it lacks heavy-weight lyricists that are Yasiin Bey and Common, because they wouldn't work with this kind of track. It has a great beat that switches creatively in Kanye's verse. Pusha T kills it, Kanye delivered, and Big Sean made a playful verse I considered funny. The only thing that I do not like about this song is 2 Chainz whom I don't think Kanye was in his sober mind when he signed him.
And the first single (Or hype track, like what happened with H.A.M) is a banger, you don't expect the GOOD Music camp to release emo or soulful shit on their whole-label EP, in this case it was a pretty awesome banger with a crazy sample. They know their fans don't want them to create their group album to sound like a bunch of emotional *****, it would be the same "wtf" situation if New Day was released as the first single of Watch The Throne. They're GOOD Music. You should wait for the album before you make a judgement.
