***** This is my opinion (Alex): They are both legends without question. I think career-wise Nas has produced a better overall body of work BUT Royce has been way better than Nas over the past couple of years (probably due to spending time withSlaughterhouse and Eminem). Royce continues to show progression and Nas seems to show digression to me. "The Don" was nothing close to what Nas is capable of doing, and his verse on Nicki Minaj's "Champion" was far from impressive. His Rick Ross collabo was weak too. You have to keep in mind that Royce has some insane punchlines and verses saved for "Welcome to: Our House," so we may not have even heard the best of Royce yet. If I had to choose between them right now I'm definitely taking Royce. Even though I'm choosing Royce, Nas is still my third greatest MC of all-time (you gotta respect the body of work).

You're building an elite roster of the world's best rappers. You have a choice between Royce da 5'9" and Nas. Who do you take and why? @AlexAwadaMN

Keep in mind this is the question. I think more history can be made if you had Nas in your roaster, than Royce.. Plus, Nas is a lot more clever and creative than Royce.
I might talk about that album too much, but could you seriously picture Royce making an amazing album with a fucking reggae or whatever genre it is like Damian Marley?

I was wondering the same thing a couple months ago.

But, on topic, I'd choose Royce. He has a certain charm and I find him much more funnier, and possibly funner to work with.

And you shouldn't double post.

Maybe its too early to say Hopsin is better than Royce....I do like Royce a lot though.

I don't understand whats double post? :confusion:

Posting twice in a row. If you want to say something else just edit your post, don't start a new post unless someone has has already posted after yours.

Menzo, you beat me to it. On a side note, this allows me to finally say something...this forum dickrides Hopsin too much. What has he done that's an impressive innovation to the game except for gaining instant success with a captivating style that, I might add, has a overwhelming resemblance to the Slim Shady style? Don't get me wrong, I know Slim Shady and Hopsin are immensely different, but at the same time they are very similar. I mean, if you listened to Hopsin only once you wouldn't be able to tell the difference. You have to listen to him until the point you can distinguish his voice from Eminem's old voice to realize he is different, that was how it was for me. By that time (I had listened to half of RAW) I heard the distinctions and similarities. Yes, when I finally realized this I loved him and he was a fad for me for a while, but then I realized if he keeps doing what he is doing he won't be remembered at all. He won't have a legend status for sure, and if he is remembered he will be remembered as the slightly above average rapper that had a beef with Ruthless Records. I mean, who here honestly thinks RAW brought anything new to the table? It only brought some enjoyable music for the time being, but it could be easily replaced by the next album release you're anticipating. Just my opinion.

I guess you could say Royce is right now, but thats not fair since Nas is well past his prime. Nas is top 5 all time and royce although underrated really isnt anywhere close. Thats like trying to say Kendrick Lamar is better than Eminem.

^ I might, I've said this before. And don't get it twisted, I love Hopsin and support him but I got that opinion and I think time will show that I'm right.

Honestly what did Royce bring to hip hop that was so new to the table? Dude's been on his grind (for lack of a better term) for the past 20 years and people gave a little shit about him in 2011 because of his tape with Eminem...Whoop. The only reason anyone was listening to him before that was because of Eminem in the first place, or because he originated from Detroit and people just loveee them Detroit rappers.

This, Royce is a above average rapper nothing more while Nas is a legend. The comparison might never even be fair to make.

Nas is repetitive and very boring sometimes. Royce does not have a classic out yet, but some of his verses are really great.

I prefer.. both. Damn, hard to decide
