Anyone who says Nas isnt good now is obviously either
1- was never a fan of him in the first place (acceptable)
2- isnt up to speed with his releases and critical reception
3- is simply biased towards Royce for whatever reason.

Distant Relatives >>> BME. Its not even close to being competitive tbh. And he did that with a fucking Reggae artists (who himself is an awesome artist) but not the biggest rapper in the world. Nasty was one of the most played and well received singles in recent memory. He performed his debut album Illmatic in its completion at SXSW and had favorable reviews in charisma, authenticity and relation to the crowd. He is real, relevant, responsible and choosing Royce is because one would have chosen Royce anyway at any other point in time.

Oh, lol at people using Nas' guest appearance verses as a barometer of his current state when they are continuously defending Eminem on his guest verses. smfh

And that includes Biggie and Pac, whore
And I got an Evil Twin
So who the fuck do you think that third and that fourth spot's for?

Hopsin? Really?

Menzo, you beat me to it. On a side note, this allows me to finally say something...this forum dickrides Hopsin too much. What has he done that's an impressive innovation to the game except for gaining instant success with a captivating style that, I might add, has a overwhelming resemblance to the Slim Shady style? Don't get me wrong, I know Slim Shady and Hopsin are immensely different, but at the same time they are very similar. I mean, if you listened to Hopsin only once you wouldn't be able to tell the difference. You have to listen to him until the point you can distinguish his voice from Eminem's old voice to realize he is different, that was how it was for me. By that time (I had listened to half of RAW) I heard the distinctions and similarities. Yes, when I finally realized this I loved him and he was a fad for me for a while, but then I realized if he keeps doing what he is doing he won't be remembered at all. He won't have a legend status for sure, and if he is remembered he will be remembered as the slightly above average rapper that had a beef with Ruthless Records. I mean, who here honestly thinks RAW brought anything new to the table? It only brought some enjoyable music for the time being, but it could be easily replaced by the next album release you're anticipating. Just my opinion.

100% agreed, Hopsin is very average, he hasn't done anything stand-out so far.

Also, Distant Relatives > HTS

Agreed, I feel he rushed it to start work on Slaughterhouse and to become a free agent solo career wise.

No doubt

I actually like Royces old material better than his recent works.
Nas' Illmatic was dope as hell... but i think i liked Death is Certain more.
and as sick as either was, i think Royce takes the cake when it comes to dissing other rappers.. which is where i find alot of rappers dopest material comes from. just my opinion.

ill say Royce.

I stopped by to say Fuck Prodigy.
:flower:

On topic, Nas easily when it comes to overall and even on all technical and logical aspects of skill. Except delivery, Royce has mastered several forms of voice styles, tempo flows as well as an impressive talent to manipulate words. Nas on the other hand, has mastered only a few styles and has proved monotonous on multiple instances (Nastradamus for example).

Definitely Nas overall especially as far as his whole legacy and impact goes.. Although I can't listen to him that much. I listen to Royce much more.
