Eminem has the three best albums ("The Slim Shady LP," "The Marshall Mathers LP," & "The Eminem Show"), two near classics ("Relapse" & "Recovery", three near classics if you count "Refill"), and one average album ("Encore," which is better than most stuff being put out lately and actually has some good songs. I mean the deluxe edition has some amazing tracks), but Nas & Jay have a better discography in terms of consistency. I'd say, based on these things, either Jay or Eminem. Dr. Dre came to my mind, but he only made two albums, not including groups, so I left him out. Also, if you count D12 & Bad Meets Evil for Eminem, then I'd add another two classics ("Devil's Night" & the "Nuttin' to Do / Scary Movies EP"), one more near classic ("Hell: The Sequel"), & an above average album ("D12 World"). However, I'd have to go with Jay-Z because of his consistency, but I still maintain Eminem's best is better than Jay-Z's worst while Eminem's worst was worst than Jay-Z's. If I were talking upcoming artists it would be Kendrick Lamar followed by Yelawolf. Now that I'm thinking, Tech N9ne has a good body of work but really hasn't made a classic, the only album that I think could get a classic status from him is "Klusterfuk." Then Nas has a fuckung amazing body of work, he really has never put out a bad album. I believe his best is better than Jay-Z's best but Jay-Z has a tighter consistency, thus Nas's worst is worse than Jay-Z's, but "Stillmatic," "Illmatic," & "It Was Written" are better than Jay-Z's best. I guess what I'm trying to say is that this is harder than it seems. The only ones I would consider for this are Jay-Z, Eminem, & Nas though. But damn, Kanye could be on that list too. It's just hard. I won't include Biggie or 2Pac though, 2Pac's only classics were his last two albums (they were amazing though), and Biggie has put more albums out after his death than when he was living. That's not to say those two albums weren't bad though, they were amazing as well.
