A top 5 greatest ever Hip Hop Album?

I would say it is based on it being a perfect Album from Lyrical Content to Production to Subject Matter to Hooks to Emotion and having a variety of tracks from Deep Personal Emotional tracks like Sing For The Moment, Hailies Song, Say Goodbye To Hollywood, Cleaning Out My Closet to Poliutical/Conscious tracks like White America, Square Dance to club bangers like Superman to Story Telling tracks like Drips.


Also the fact it is such a relatable Album to such a mass audeience as far as relating to the Music and what is being said in the Lyrics in so many Songs on this Album. Definitley his best Album ever.

It's the best Album i've heard Musically but i must say it's an Album i can relate to the most as well which makes it even more special. Cos tracks like Cleaning Out My Closet, Superman, Hailies Song, Sing For The Moment have helped me get through some real tough times.

IMO, I don't care if I seem like a complete stan, SSLP, MMLP and TES are the 3 best albums in Hip-Hop history, yes they are that great, there are hundreds of other classic great albums, but none that top these 3 IMO....
For me, TES is the third best between those, so yes it is in the top 5 of all time

Now i think that is going too far The SSLP is not in the top 5 Hip Hop Albums ever let alone the best a classic yes. Certaintly there are Albums better like The Chronic, All Eyez On Me, Supreme Clientele, The Infamous etc. The Eminem Show is far superior to The SSLP and The MMLP.

But on a serious not, I really believe what I said, and I think the power of these 3 albums are enough to make Eminem the best MC that ever ran through the Hip Hop game, with Recovery and Relapse being Immense albums as well but not on the level of those 3

He definitley has the best discography in Hip Hop ever.

Lello my man, that's the spirit! I completely agree about The Slim Shady LP, it was such an original album, and the rhyming and flow are fucking perfect. The personality he displayed on it is excellent, plus the humor (funniest album to me), and it has variety in tracks as well. From Rock Bottom and If I Had, to storytelling bombs like As The Words Turns and Brain Damage, to murderous braggadocio ish like Role Model and Still Don't Give A Fuck. The Eminem on that album could outrap any other Eminem, lol. And all the freestyles he did during that time are breath taking even to this day too.

The Marshall Mathers LP and The Eminem Show are perfect too though, and that's definitely the best MCing presented on albums. The cultural impact is there too, so there's nothing missing. I think any of the 3 can be the best Eminem/Hip-Hop album, because they all complement each other perfectly, and form an amazing trilogy (the musical Lord Of The Rings sort of a thing). The only other album that is perhaps better, and I often say it is, is Illmatic for it's perfection and lack of any whack verses (Bizzare didn't help much). It also has the most Hip-Hop anthems on an album, and the verses were levels ahead of what was being presented at the time.

The Albums sales are ridicilous too it has sold over 10 Million just in the US and over 20 MIllion Worldwide. Those numbers are crazy.

Nas has Illmatic, Stillmatic, God's Son, It Was Written, I Am..., and Untitled.. That far exceeds Eminem's discography, in my opinion.

And with Reasonable Doubt, The Black Album, The Blueprint, Hard Knock Life, Life and Times, and American Gangster, I feel like Jigga is also up there, too.

I won't even get into the Kanye discussion because this forum can't handle a Kanye discussion in a civil manner.
