New This Week

Postby Man1x » Apr 22nd, '12, 22:53

This week we will see some potentinally great releases:
-"A Party We Will Throw (feat. Kendrick Lamar, Nate Dogg, & The Game)" - Warren G (Tuesday)
-"The Slumdon Bridge EP" - Yelawolf & Ed Sheeran (Tuesday)
-"I Don't Like (Remix)" - G.O.O.D. Music (Monday)

And potentially more! Check out last week's releases:

-"Way Too Cold (DJ Khaled)" - Kanye West
-"Smoke Out Conversations" - Dizzy Wright

Feel free to discuss last week's releases and anticipate this week's here.

I thought Dizzy Wright dropped an above average album, nothing new (but hey who doesn't like this), and it did good for an indepent drop. It reached #3 on the iTunes Hip-Hop/Rap charts. Also, it is arguably the best Funk Volume release to date, and undoubtedly has featured the best production available to Funk Volume to date. The cover was also a nice touch to compliment the music.
"Way Too Cold (feat. DJ Khaled) [Theraflu]" was an amazing drop from Kanye but hasn't done as well as his last release "Mercy," which by the way was a somewhat lackluster track in my opinion.

Now, this week I will buy the amazing EP, "The Slumdon Bridge EP," as an official release. You all know the story behind this record. Next, G.O.O.D. Music is dropping its second single, "I Don't Like (Remix)." If it is anything like the original track be prepared for shit, but the track is a banger and should sell well. So, if this track sucks be prepared to see Kanye stanyes come to defense faster than a Stan bumping FACK with defenses such as "Go back to listening to your shit Eminem music." Yeah, I'm looking at you Studio Leaks (and some members on this site). Anyway, here's to hoping it will be better than "Mercy." In addition, Slaughterhouse dropped their "Hammer Dance" video on MTV. It was very boring but featured Kanye West, Tony Yayo, 50 Cent, Eminem, & Victor Cruz cameos. So, form a jack off circle to that.

Now, my most anticipated single dropping this Tuesday will be Warren G's, "A Party We Will Throw (feat. Kendrick Lamar, Nate Dogg, & The Game)." From the snippets it is shaping up to be an amazing song with a classic G-Funk sound.

*Note, "Way Too Cold" leaked as "Theraflu" when "Mercy" was official released. It was oficially released as Way Too Cold (feat. DJ Khaled)" this week.

I only mentioned "The Slumdon Bridge EP" because it could elevate Yelawolf's career and prepare the mainstream for his Travis Barker collaborative EP that has not yet received an official release date. And in regards to "Smoke Out Conversations", I said "arguably the best Funk Volume release." I didn't say it was the best.

I want to see some proof of Kendrick Lamar being on that Warren G song if someone can provide it.

Type in "Warren G Party We Will Throw" into Google. There is no mention of Kendrick Lamar. I heard the snippet and it's just Warren G rapping.. Not K.Dot.

Hopefully someone can provide me with some proof, though.

Warren G had officially said that he wants to get The Game & Kendrick Lamar on that song before, but you're right. There is no official statement that he is actually on it. It's mostly speculation.

Okay, thanks. I think he'd build anticipation and say K.Dot was on there if he really was. I wouldn't count on Kendrick being on that record, unfortunately. I'd love to see it, though.

Well The Game has been heard on the snippet but he hasn't publicly stated that The Game was on it. Also, The Game had a bigger name than Kendrick Lamar so it would make sense to mention him before Kendrick. He techniqually hasn't said Nate Dogg is on it either.

I only understand it if it's a limited edition hard-copy pressing, and that's just for the right to say "fuck you, bitches, I have it and you dont!"

I'm going to digitally download it to support Yelawolf and to have it up loaded to my iCloud. It doesn't go into iCloud if it's not bought from iTunes. Also, it's good music, so that's another reason that for buying it.

Edit: Here is the source saying that Kendrick Lamar is on "A Party We Will Throw," you all determine if it is a official site. It's enough for me to say he's on it.
