B.o.B Releasing A Rock Album Next

Postby flyingmonkey10 » May 1st, '12, 05:57

B.o.B's sophomore album, Strange Clouds, isn't even out yet -- it drops tomorrow (May 1) -- but the multi-talented ATLien is already talking about his next project. In an interview with HipHopDX, Bobby Ray reveals that his fans should expect to hear a "rock album" and that "it's already hatched and semi recorded." He also spoke on his upcoming collaborative record with T.I., The Man and the Martian, though it's not clear when we'll be hearing it.

You can peep a portion of the interview below and read it in its entirety at HipHopDX.

DX: Should fans anticipate a rock album next?

B.o.B: It’s already hatched and semi recorded.

DX: Who are you looking forward to working with on the rock album? Do you have a dream list?

B.o.B: For me it could be a new artist or someone who has been out for years. But for for people who like "strange clouds," metaphorically speaking, check out James Blake. Catch a cloud and pop that in.

DX: So you will be dropping your first rock album and a collaborative album with T.I. too?

B.o.B: We are working on the Man and the Martian project. It’s a project on the horizon. We are trying to get our solo projects out first. We already have songs recorded for it. It’s on the agenda of things to do.

Fucking tired with rappers trying to go rock. Lil Wayne did it and failed, Cudi did it and didn't do a whole lot better, and now B.o.B. wants to do it...damn it.

I hope it will not sound like "some nigga on guitar", but actual singing.. I feel B.o.B is a good singer, but can he make a true rock music?

No. Lil Wayne failed, Cudi kinda failed to me...the most believable out of all of them is B.o.B...I actually kinda saw this coming. But no, I don't think he'll be able to quite pull it off either. It will probably be better than Wayne and Cudi's rock songs though.

I guess Wayne's Rebirth album had an influence despite how awful it was.
Fuck top five, bitch, I'm top four
And that includes Biggie and Pac, whore
And I got an Evil Twin
So who the fuck do you think that third and that fourth spot's for?

Good. Artists who don't evolve are boring, and lesser artists than those who do. I think he could pull off a rock album as he has a broader appreciation of most genres than most other rappers do, and he's a real musician who can sing and play instruments. So it wouldn't be tacky.

Lmao. Well I'm sure it won't. As B.o.B is a real musician, and actually likes rock music.

Lil Wayne is a shit artist, he can't sing or play the guitar ("B.o.Bobob play the guitar!"), clearly has very little real appreciation of rock beyond image and was just trying to pull a Kanye (808s).
