The first song of an album

Postby Kill You » May 3rd, '12, 13:46

I've noticed this trend in hip hop, that the first song of an album is actually great/amazing and they usually end up being my favorite tracks. Welcome 2 Hell, Cold Wind Blows, White America, Kill You (just to name a few Eminem songs) are all great songs and they are the opening songs on their respective albums. From other albums, there's No Church In The Wild (from Watch The Throne), Dark Fantasy (MBDTF), Bombs Away (Strange Clouds), Radioactive Intro (Radioactive)...and the list goes on.

Has anyone noticed this trend. Does anyone agree with me? Disagree?

YEah I agree sometimes I just hate when they start off an album with a skit, however if it turns into a song its all good!! I just dont like skits lol :smoking:

Yeah, and it makes sense. For some people listening, it may be the first song they hear from the album. Other times there's a single that leads the way, and that is the first song you hear. But if you start with a bang, it gets people to keep listening.
