Double as good as Yela.
Let's hope SH can top this...
I wanted an album so rugged nobody could touch it.
Spent a million a track and went over my budget.
Now how in the fuck am I supposed to get out of debt?
I can't rap anymore, I just murdered the alphabet.

Yealwolf did near 50k so not even double... Also, B.o.B. actually had mainstream hits, as mentioned by xnoxiousx. Yelawolf, if he had a hit and the amount of promotion B.o.B has had would have possibly sold much more, his next album will for sure with the fan base growth he has experienced. It's really a flop in my opinion for B.o.B.

Let's keep in mind that it's pretty tough to get someone to buy an album they can easily get for free on the internet as well. Especially if they don't like the CD, they can just delete it instead of feeling like they wasted their money.

Still, those circumstances haven't changed much since 2010 when he made his mainstream debut.

There youtube etc.. to see if you like songs... Don't let people say "oh i wants to try it see if i liked it" 90% of thoese people never buy it. Its just piracy.

Yea I have barely played any BoB since 2010. I thought he would really develop into something great, but I think partly to certain label pressures being put on him, he hasn't been able to grow in the way I thought he might. Kendrick has far surpassed him now. Saying that, I haven't even given this a listen to Strange Clouds yet, will look it up on Spotify now

B.o.B's sales a bit of a mystery to me...

As in, you would think he would sell a lot more :confusion:

When you consider how huge the singles off of The Adventures of Bobby Ray were, and how consistently melodic, catchy and memorable he always is, it doesn't make much sense to me.

I do think he compromised his artistry and purity in many places on Strange Clouds though, to try and aim to be bigger, and those sales just show why it's NEVER worth it. Because you can effectively sell-out to some degree, and yet still remain small or the same, so then it's totally pointless.

You may as well always just remain 100% uncompromised, and you'll do what you do regardless.
