When Em is making Songs about his daughter (Hailies Song, When I'm Gone, Mockingbird)
Why do those who feel this way think it's a corny Subject Matter/Concept?

Not neccesarily saying he should on his next Album but even when those Songs first came out a few odd people just labelled the Subject Matter corny.
I never understood this cos Nas recentley did a record about his daughter but i haven't seen a Nas fan so far that that corny, or same with 2pac's Dear Mama i know that was about his mother oppossed to daughter but in a general sense very similar concept and style of Song but to this day never seen a 2pac fan label that song corny.
It's understandable if people don't like Musical elements of these Songs like Hailies Song such as the Beat or Singing or Delivery that's fair enough if they didn't like those aspects but what makes a positive record about love and affection for 1s daughter 'corny'? that's the main issue

You know, I disagree, actually (to an extent). I think if it's the same "daddy loves you" bs, and doesn't actually say anything, then I agree we've had enough of that, but she could still be a good source of material, if he's willing to be open and poignant in his portrayal of her. The problem is he might not be willing to do that, for the sake of privacy. But what it's like having her grow up... what her personality's like, what their family dynamic is like and how he feels about it... it's corny yes, but also, I think, intriguing. She's still a major player in his life, and as long as he has new and insightful things say about her, I don't see why she should necessarily be a dead topic. I for one, am curious about how she'll turn out, just because her situation is quite uncommon--even amongst celebrity kids.
BUT, I would get it if he just keeps her off limits from now on, not wanting to put her on blast. But at the same time, Em needs to rap about things he actually means. Which is why it could possibly be a good thing. Just my opinion.

It was hard for fans to accept that the same man that made a song like "Kim" went out and recorded a song like "Hailie's Song".
People that I'm friends with don't find "When I'm Gone" or "Mockingbird" corny, they find them pretty emotional and appropriate. I'm pretty sure back in the day people were used to Eminem's 'corny' subject matter since he had released The Eminem Show which was pretty.. well.. family appropriate.
Nowadays, people find songs like "Not Afraid" and "Love The Way You Lie" corny because of the album he released in the last year: Relapse.
