Hopsin can Rap but the major problem is

His Content, he tries too hard to be funny and it doesn't sound funny in my opinion a lotta the time he he rappin just to be rappin instead of having depth and meaning to his content. A ;otta people call him a wannabee Slim Shady and it's easy too see why he basically a Slim Shady with out the balance of a Marshall Mathers with out a Rock Bottom, If I Had, 97 Bonnie & Clyde records that even Em had during his Slim Shady Persona era. It's hard to listen to a whole Hopsin album with this current style he has.


It's a shame cos Content is the thing that will hold him back and stop him from really blowing up or going down as respected Rapper.

Well that is the main reason i can't get into Hopsins Music but he can spit it's just his Content and style that put's me off and Content is the most important aspect to a lotta people anyway.

i liked him when i heard sag my pants cuz u know that was new and orginal then i heard the album and im like hes just rapping on differnt beats with the same emotion and flow

Hopsin is absolutely nothing like Slim Shady. What? Cuz he has humour he's like him? Such flawed logic should be banished from existence.

They don't even rap about similar subject matter Hopsin has plenty of those shitty emotional songs you flick your bean to, like Trimss showed.

The humor isn't funny though it comes across weird and awkward in my opinion. Ludacris however is someone that has humor plenty of it always has but when he does it it comes of natural. Kinda like Ludacris is funny and he really can be while it comes across like Hopsin is trying to be but isn't. Ludacris you can't also say is wasted talent cos again he balanced it out and has a catalouge of Platinum Albums and Grammys. Where as Hopsin has released Albums and still hasn't been succesful.


Your opinion might be they are shitty it just comes down to taste but even the pioneers of Hip Hip will tell you Content and expressing your feelings and emotions, saying somethin in the Lyrics, making records people can relate to etc are fundemental aspects of Hip Hop almost every pioneer will tell you that and that is why Em is so respected as are 2pac and others who make those records. What may be 'shitty' to you are actually records that help so many people going through what these records cover so keep that in mind.

Well i tried to listen to his Albums but the weird humor and gimmicky records just put me off. I did listen to those Songs dude mentioned they were ok i wouldn't say special or anything. I think major point is he may have Songs like that but the too much of the comedy silly type Songs being the majority put's people of his Music.


Ludacris also majority wise does the Comedy shit on his Albums but will have the few real records with actual content too but like said before Lurdacris actually can be funny doing it while with Hopsin i find it weird and can't enjoy it. It just doesnt sound enjoyable. Not a big Luda fan or nothing but just making a point.

I told him this my self actually back when he used to go on AOL chats i actually remember a lotta people saying the exact same thing to him in those aol chats basically not waste any talent he has on just making goofy, silly music but it didn't seem like he wanted to take any advice. This was in 06 though but there will come a day when he has to if he wants to be succesful or at the very least go down as a respected Artist.


I just couldn't picture a Rakim or a Kool G Rap ever making goofy music and getting respect for it. Nor 2pac and we seen the criticisim Slim Shady style from Em got. I think if 2pac, Kool G Rap, Nas just to name a few made that kinda Music Hopsin does they would get crucfied even if they balanced it out with other types of records and had a lotta real records with content and relatable i still think they would catch a lotta flack.

Okay, see, if you said that in the first place it woulda saved a lot of time. You don't like the type of humor he uses.

I personally don't find Luda funnier than Hop, but whatever. Still, you can't say you've listened to "Nocturnal Rainbows" and you didn't get a chill down your spine. That song is something else.

Well i listened to it literally a moment ago and honestly no i didn't the song didn't connect with me on that level not saying it's a bad song at all it's not bad at all but no to answer your question.
