He's not overrated. He gets a lot of shit here too, but since you like to always start talking shit about him it's obvious that we're gonna defend him and say he's dope.

He gets a lot of shit, yes. He deserves most of the praise he gets, yes. He isn't original, yes. Do I care, no. He's dope and I like his music so fuck some of you people's opinions (not Trimss). Anyway, I thought Afterrape no longer was going to come around this part of the web and stay in her hood. Apparently I was wrong.

Just because you're successful, doesn't mean you have talent. Hopsin's talented and he's doing shit HIS way. If Hopsin cared only about making stacks, fucking bitches and all that shit, dude would've been everywhere in the mainstream by now. If you listened to his music carefully, you'd realize that. He doesn't want to come up the easy way and lose his creative soul to the big cats. He wants to make music and inspire people on HIS terms. That's why he built Funk Volume, that's why Tech N9ne fucks with him, that's why he scored a spot on XXL's Freshman Spot of 2012 without sucking anyone's dick. Look at his Funk Volume page, and his own fan page. People love him because he's real with himself, you can see it on his posts and in his music.

When you see a musician or a celebrity, it's almost as if they don't exist in the world of the average individual. You see their work, you see them in interviews and award shows, but you never really feel like you get to know them. With Hopsin, you do. I mean the guy even came on here for a bit to kick it, what known rapper does that? He has plenty of emotional tracks, serious tracks, vicious tracks, and all that. You just have it stuck in your head that if Eminem and Dr. Dre had a baby, it'd be Hopsin.

I fail to see how just because you don't connect with his content it renders all his content obsolete. If you don't like him I understand. But he has way more content than comedy tracks in his catalog. So his flow sounds the same on every track? I think the same with every Jay-Z, Nas, 2Pac, and Biggie track I hear. Doesn't mean that should detract from any quality the tracks do possess.

I dont know but it really doesn't sound like you've given him a chance. And that is why so many artists of any genre get overlooked. Gotta actually give them a chance before you pass judgement. Shit had I not done that I would have never liked Nas or Jay-Z.

Not to mention, how many Em clones are really out there that really can pull it off? I agree with both sides of the argument. Hopsin has insane lyrics, he is a great rapper, but his soft songs, are not as emotional as Eminem's, Eminem completely switches styles from song to song. Hopsin slightly changes.
