Sounds awesome, it's only 30 seconds long but I've been listening to it the whole day, lol. Can't wait for the full track which drops later today. The beat is basically a remix of Pete Rock and CL Smooth's T.R.O.Y., which of course is one of the best beats ever, so it's great to hear Lupe over a vintage Hip-Hop sound.

So anyway, the song is awesome, I knew that Lupe wouldn't disappoint with his next release. I love the mix of classic Hip-Hop and Lupe's extraordinary rapping skills. Great references/messages through out the whole song, very nice chorus, and I absolutely love the Cadillacs And Dinosaurs reference. The last metaphor about the American Dream, and the mixture of Neo and Freddy Krueger was cool as hell as well. The remixed beat is also more up-tempo than the original one, so it's great that it added more energy to the sample like that.

TROY is one the greatest songs of all time that Pete Rock and CL Smooth made in tribute to one of their best friends who passed away. It is a very sentimental song for Pete Rock, I'm sure.

Pete Rock sampled in TROY, so Lupe didn't have to get a sample cleared for that, but just the original sample. He still should have approached Pete Rock about this.. This is just plain disrespectful to Pete Rock, CL Smooth, and the late Trouble T Roy. At least ask before you touch a hip-hop archive like this.

I'd be pretty upset if I made a song about a late friend and someone flipped the beat for a single without even asking. Pete Rock is not the only one upset about this. This bothers me and makes me think of Lupe even less as a person. His Obama/terrorist comment, embarrassment to ATCQ at their tribute, and bitching about songs leaking/threatening to quit added to this move just shows what kind of person Lupe is.

Not to mention Lasers sucked and so does this... aside from the beat that he virtually just remixed in a shitty fashion.

And also, Lupe apparently got the green light from Pete Rock (not personally I guess, but via other people) and now Pete got mad out of nowhere. If he really said that they could cover the song, and then bitched about it, then that's retarded. But anyway, the two of them have talked over the phone and set the record straight, so all the mad Hip-Hop purists who don't know that Lupe is better than their favorite rapper (and by how much he is) can now fucking chill.
