What is happening with Hopsin?

Last I checked he just dropped that mad corny Ride My Dick bullshit. I was a pretty big fan for a bit (remember the exclusive interview I got for TRShady?) but now he's just blah. Dude has been acting like he's too big for his fans, but I get less hyped for new music from him everyday. I heard a freestyle from him, wack and corny. What is he doing?

He actually posted here recently, so the whole too big for his fans isn't really true man. He's working on Knock Madness, he bought a new studio and shit.

He made a collab with Travis Barker, they made a beat together for his KM. A second single should be released soon, and KM should drop in November.

So far he's got Travis Barker and a couple of the XXL Freshmen.

Hopsin's doing what every artist does when they get to a certain level of fame: taking advantage of it. But now it feels like he's losing his connection with his fans, which is one of the reasons he's so popular in the first place.

I think Hopsin interacts a lot with his fans, knowing that he has almost 400 000k fans on Facebook, he still takes the time to answer statuses, give things like recently he gave out some G shocks for free.

He signed up here, and even wanted to tinychat with just TR members but he signed up with twitter and lots of dumb fans saw it.

If you pay attention--Hop tries the Eminem Lead single approach. Like the funny, corny first single. First with GATM he had Pans in the kitchen (corny...), then Sag my pants (corny...), and now Hop Madness, which is also corny. This is nothing new... He said his next single for Knock madness will be the best song he's made yet, & it'll be a serious song. Cut him some slack--I'm sure adjusting to fame & trying to please everyone isn't easy.

Of course fame's going to change him. Imagine if you became a famous musician, actor or whatever RIGHT NOW. Then fast forward three months later. Would you be the same dude? Most likely not. People change all the time, that's necessary in life. At least he still talks to his fans whenever he can. I bet you if you asked Hop in 2009 if he ever thought he'd get this big to where he can barely talk to his fans, he'd tell you too. He's not Hollywood.

Yeah, but Pans in the Kitchen and Sag my Pants were both pretty damn good. Hop Madness is pretty ehhhhh especially for a lead single. Im anxiously waiting for Knock Madness. He has the exposure now to do something where he could really impress and catch a lot of peoples' attention. I think the next song will tell us a lot.

I didn't mean it like that. Hell, Kanye is my favorite rapper and he won't even give interviews. I'm just saying Hopsin isn't big enough to be lying about release dates and basically just bullshitting.

You have to remember that he's is not signing to a major label, and he has to do mostly everything by himself, so things are evidently going to take longer. But as you can read in the other thread where he actually posted himself, he has learned not to promise release dates unless he is absolutely sure about, because something tends to fuck up when you're doing everything yourself.
